My new favorite author

I got my first Connilyn Cossette book on an audible sale. I didn’t realize it was the second book in the cities of refuge series. I was hooked - finished that series and then the out of Egypt series. Then I started this one. I am sad there were only two books and I finished them too quickly 😭
I am looking forward to more books from her. This one was a favorite. Oh, Lukio….

Wonderful and unforgettable

This was indeed an incredible book. The historical and biblical setting was amazingly well done and based on many true situations (and even characters) found in Scripture. The individual characters literally came to life on the page, both good and bad. The history and depth of the relationship between Shoshana and Lukio was beautiful and yet at times heart rending. It was difficult to know how many of the situations and relationships within the story would end… Some heartbreaking and others beautiful. I loved to see the obvious hand of God at numerous times throughout the story, especially as Lukio comes to believe. I highly highly recommend this book!

Engaging story!!

All my Goodreads friends gave this 5⭐️ and I totally see why! I loved the storyline and liked the narration. These narrators do a lot of biblical fiction so sometimes it feels like the same story, but this unique plot was so different that I was definitely immersed and engaged!!

Love this series

I love these stories and love that they give me a window into the history of the Bible. They are so good. My only complaint is the female narrator is so good, and the male narrator is just ok. Compared to her it’s just not very good. But it’s still amazing!

Captivating immersion!

Connilynn Cossett is an artist at taking Biblical history and brushing up against the known with fictional stories that are enthralling and heartwarming. They promote Biblical truth, encouragement, inspiration and help us picture and understand what life may have been like in that time. I’m on my 5th listen through her books!!

One of my favorite authors in this genre. Enjoying the series and hoping there is more to come. Perfect narrator for this book.

Sad, disturbing, accurate

Oh my, this is fiction, yet it could so easily be reality. All the elements of humanity are are clearly shown in this story of love, mercy, grace, and redemption.

Beautifully dramatic with action and heartfelt connection

This was a great continuation of the story of the first book- all of the characters felt the same, though matured through their circumstances. It was also great to see the differences in how people come to faith in the contrast between Eliora's and Lukio's stories.
