So much fun!

These short books are so enjoyable for anyone liking British detective stories, dogs and histories of origins of foods particular to an area. Author gives voice to his canine protagonist that sounds totally plausible when we look at our dogs and wonder what they are thinking about. Each book is complete by itself and yet apart from the family stories that progress as you follow Albert Smith on his journey through Britain searching for typical foods, there is another larger mystery waiting to be solved!

The humour and the interactions between man and dog.

I know the premise of these stories could seem a little strange. With the heroes being a man in his late 70's and a police dog who flunked out of the training academy ,but the laughs and love of these two makes these stories magical. You wait every second to see what's going to happen next. Dogs in trees, flying cats, Yorkshire puddings and gangsters as well as the continuing story make this a must listen to.

Entertaining and funny

These books are … well cute. The story of the old man and his dog solving crimes is touching and quite funny at times. The gastrothief story line ties it all together and is a unique storyline that makes you wonder what will happen next.

Lots of fun

A series about one man and his dog, and the trouble you can get into. Lots of fun and a great story. Well read, and the dog is hysterical. Again, a fun listen.

Laughed and enjoyed

Enjoyed the first 10 lbs, now on to the next caper with Albert and Rex.

Very deliciously delightful.

The stories were told from different perspectives. Rex the oversized German Shepherd was my favorite. If you love your fur baby(ies), you cannot put this performance away. And if you love to discover new places and food, it’s an adventure for you. Then finally, solving murder mysteries with Rex and his human, the Retired Albert, while up against a cartoon mastermind villain, well that’s just the bonus of it all.

A Winning Combination

I am thoroughly enjoying these books. Just enough mystery & silliness. I am a fan of dog's personalities being presented in the books that I read. I am a fan of career- changed Rex & his also retired human, Albert.

Absolutely delightful!

This book and narrator are exactly what I needed. My eternal optimism was flagging due to the world chaos. Thank you for bringing Albert Smith and Rex into my life.

Rex is a full fledged character. The narration was top notch. A must listen for mystery fans and dog lovers alike!
