Great sequel, well worth the wait

I received a free copy to give my honest opinion, will try to avoid spoilers. In the last book I mentioned that " In most stories the multiple memories would cause the MC to struggle for balance, in this story he was able to adapt all his experience in harmony and use them to his advantage." In this story he has managed to refine and use the experiences of all his personalities to adapt to every situation. From tactical analysis on the fly, to out haggling every merchant he meets. Im looking forward to the 3rd book in the series.

Onward to the next!

An excellent second entry into this series. Our group is on the hunt for a weapon that may help them fight the bad guy. Along the way, we get some long-awaited back story for our allies as well as introductions to new allies. So far I am really enjoying the development of the cast and many of the twists in this book were unexpected. The narrator continues to do an excellent job and I am looking forward to the next book.

Great characters and tomb raiding adventures

I have listened to the audiobook, and I have voluntarily left an honest review. Receiving a review copy did not influence my rating nor my review.

“Adventurer of Empyrea” is a terrific episode in the adventures of Cayden/Khazun and his lovers, friends and the miscellaneous barmaids, villains and other characters he routinely encounters.

This is a detailed storyline, with intricate details of the quest to identify, find and assemble artifacts that will help Cayden defeat the dark wizard, or that will enable the dark wizard to triumph over Cayden….again. There are golems, undead priests, magically enhanced serpents and more tombs and hidden rooms than you can count. Don’t listen to this story while using sharp knives or operating dangerous machinery…you’ll get distracted!

Toward the end, I enjoyed the tie-ins to the author’s “Master of Thieves” series. The writing is better with the current series (the author is more experienced), and the narration is much better (the narrators are different). I never finished the second book of “Master of Thieves”, but now I plan to go back to it to learn more of how the two series work together.

There is plenty of harem fun in the story, with promise of even more in the next book with two soon to be added members. More importantly, the book has very strong characters with a fun story. Unusual for a haremlit story, MC Cayden has a male member of his team who’s not an a-hole, but is a good guy who’s sometimes the humorous sidekick and always the stalwart adventurer and friend.

By the way, if you use whispersync to follow along with the Kindle version of the story, you’ll be amazed at the high quality art that’s included!

5* for “Adventurer of Empyrea”, and I eagerly await the next volume: “Warlord of Empyrea”!

the adventure continues. He has gained gold, women, and weapons, but the one looking for him still persists. If you enjoyed the previous book, you would love this one.

A great continuation of a really cool story!!

Man, if there is a bad guy that one really wants to detest, this one has it. Couple that with a really competent MC who is intent on intelligently succeeding and growing himself and his crew more powerful to combat a powerful foe!! Well done, and love the dual narration!!
