Publisher's summary

Newly divorced and still coping with the loss of her mother to cancer, Daphne knows it’s time for her to move on with her life and try to meet someone. Or at least find herself a one-night stand since her friends think she needs to get laid.

Enter Henry.

New to their friend group. Insanely hot. And they have great chemistry. After a steamy night in the pool on her rooftop, they find themselves falling quickly, even though neither of them were looking for a relationship.

But Daphne soon finds out that Henry has a secret, and the bubble they created around them bursts, filling Daphne’s world with pain once more.

When her mother was on her deathbed, she told Daphne that she would use her experience to help someone else with their grief one day. But how do you help someone else when you’re not truly over your own?

This book deals with themes of grief and loss. Death from cancer is a heavy topic in this book in both adults and children. Explicit sexual scenes, character death, slight violence, and talk of suicide is also present. Please listen responsibly.

Way to make me cry again…

I was lucky enough to arc read this book last fall and even though it broke my heart I loved this book so much. So when this audio came out I had to get it. It was beautifully narrated and pulled on all my heartstrings again. The raw emotion put into this made it just that more powerful for me. Highly recommend but please check trigger warnings before listening.

Such an emotionally captivating book

I got to arc read this one last fall. Last week @d.l.darby_author announced that it was on Audible, and even though the last few chapters had broken me last year, I knew I had to get the audible code from her.

The audiobook has officially destroyed me, while at work even(thankfully I haven’t had any customers the last couple hours).

The narrator adds so much more depth to Daphne, Henry and Lily. There aren’t enough words in the English language to express how much I love this audiobook.

Soul Clenching Story

I absolutely LOVE this story! It’s so captivating, heartbreaking and takes you on a rollercoaster. I gave an overall 4 star rating just because the narrator sounded like a robot for most of the story which made it difficult to actually focus on what was being said. I would recommend this book to anyone!

Beautiful story that pulls at your heart strings.

Where The Flowers Bloom was such a beautiful story.
I loved Daphne and her girl gang. Henry was not the easiest character to like. He's rough around the edges but still loving.
The story overall was very touching with a hint of hot spice.
This story deals with tough topics like cancer, family loss, and divorce.
The audiobook was beautiful to listen to, the narrator had a great voice and it was truly enjoyable.

Bloom she did!

Wow! Reading a book is one thing, but listening gives a totally different feeling. This book had so many different emotions and I felt it. I am usually a very picky audiobook listener if I don’t vibe with the narrator I can’t finish the book. But with Stella Rose, I couldn’t stop listening!! This was my first book on cancer and loss. I was a little scared at first but when I listened I couldn’t help but be sucked into the story and the world of these characters! I fell in love with Daphne and wanted to hug virtually hug her! She was such a strong loving woman. Henry ugh haha I had a love hate relationship with him, but then again when dealing with loss you can’t fault anyone for the way they react. So when I was mad at him you get his reasoning and then you understand a little of why he was the way he was. So in the end I love him too. And those sessy scenes wow just oh my goodness can Mrs. D.L. Darby hit it. Whew if you’re not crying your … cleaning up other areas if you know what I mean. All and all it was an amazing adventure of happy, laughing which I loved the banter of her friends I laughed out loud quite a few times! There was anger, sadness, loss, sexy times (chefs kiss x10) and all wrapped in a beautiful bow by the end. And I am so thankful I got to listen to the story. And now time for me to go read more D.L Darby books! Here I come!

❤️❤️

This book was so good. Definitely a rollercoaster of emotions but I loved seeing Henry and Daphne’s relationship grow overtime especially since they weren’t really looking for anything. My heart was with Daphne while she was dealing with grief in the beginning and then the heartbreak they endured together. I seriously couldn’t put this down. I listened to audio and the narrator did great. I also followed along and I Definitely recommend but be aware of content warnings as there is loss and sensitive subjects.
