Wow! It's dark and heavy, but fantastic!

First- this is a very dark. I like far erotic romance, but this is so much darker than I've ever listened to and that's saying a lot. It is so full of pain and you can't help feel it because the writing and narration is so great. I slowed it down just a tad and it lowered my anxiety level. My brain and heart needed to process what was happening and it was tough. I highly recommend if you're looking for a raw and gritty listen. Also note there are a lot of triggers and I mean A LOT so make sure you research before stating the book. I need to choose a romcom next to balance it out. A+ for the performance. Michelle and Jacob were perfection. It wouldn't have worked with any other actors.

Fantastic, As Always

Once again, we have a fantastic H.D novel. At first I was bummed to once again be seeing the same female narrator, but I honestly loved her voice for River!

Love this book!

I love her book. I love her style of writing. I love the people who narrate everything is perfect.

As a survivor I appreciate this book

I can tell when people read dark romance but have never really been through anything . This book is difficult to get through for survivors of severe abuse like myself , but it’s perfectly written and realistic . I liked it a lot more than HA but please be prepared for the triggers

Psychological warfare

Overall this was a perfect example of what victims going through domestic abuse could be going through and why they chose to stay. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more books by H. D. Carlton.

So good!

This was my first audiobook, and it was such an emotional experience. More so than after reading the book back in January. The narrators were great! Jacob Morgan was scary as Ryan, creepy as Billy and an absolute hero as Mako.

H.D. Did again another banger on the shelf !

This was such a good read it was captivating heartbreaking angering and an all around rollercoaster but the ride was amazing when you make it to the end !

Soooo good!!

This is my third audio book and my third book read written by this author! It’s dark but insanely well written. The story line, the twists and characters are so beautifully written it hurts!! Definitely recommend to the dark romance lovers!

I can’t even get over the performance by the narrators! They enhance the book to a whole new level without being distracting from what’s going on!

I loved this book just like haunting/hunting Adeline!

Heavy story, fantastic narration

HD Carlton writes it, I read it, I feel blessed. As always, dark story that I loved every moment of. I love Mako to the ends of the earth. River is badass and stubborn as hell.

The duet of the narrators and the feeling put into the reading we phenomenal and this is how I like an audiobook these days. Devoured this in one day
