About this listen

Vasili Nikolaev.

Dangerous. Deadly. And most of all, devastating.

He’s the king of New Orleans.

Ruler of the Russian mafia and my best friend’s oldest, mouthwatering brother.

On Halloween night my last year in college, I gave him everything. My body. My heart. My soul.

He burned it all to the ground with the first ray of dawn.

Lessons learned. I’ve moved on. Now, five years later, I have a career I love, a boyfriend. But Vasili is back in my life again. A temptation I don’t need.

One thing is for certain. Nikolaev always settles the score.

He’ll destroy everything and everyone, including my boyfriend.

The question is… What is Vasili’s end game?

Will he destroy me all over again or will I be the Phoenix rising from the ashes he left behind and take what I've always wanted? Him.

Hot Hot Hot

This was a pretty spicy one and I was ok with that! There was some events of sadness and mystery with the MMC but definitely enjoyed this one. The banter between all the characters were very entertaining and kept me smiling. The narration was on point, of course!

mid

Den of sin,
The writing gets repetitive sometimes, I didn't like the backround music in some of the reading. It was weirdly placed halfway thru and they're getting ready to go out and there is jazz music in the backround randomly. I get it being in the club, but then theres sound effects. I dont know, the elevator music continues with sound effects when they leave the club and then randomly stops 🙄. The performance was 5/5. The writing was 3/5.

The Den of Vipers

Those background noises, and the kissing noises, gawd why!?!?! This is a great story, low on spice 🌶️🌶️/5. The story is good, and the narrator's are good, but halfway through when the background music and noises hit; it throws it all the way off!

A 5 star story!

I loved both Vasili and Isabella. Their story was captivating, dangerous and intense. It kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end with all the secrets & lies and twists & turns. Troy Duran and Mackenzie Cartwright both did an amazing job bringing this story to life. What I didn't like, though, was the background music/sound effects. It was very distracting and unnecessary. When it first started around chapter 12, I had to shut my audiobook off a couple of times because I thought maybe I had something else open that was playing in the background but then I realized it was actually part of the book. It wasn't even the whole book, though, which was strange. It was just several chapters in the middle of the book so maybe about half the book. Even though I didn't love this audio, I did love Eva's story and will be checking out more of her books in the future.

Vasili and Bella

I finally got to read/listen to Vasili and Bella's story. It was a light mafia book since the story was about the hero and heroine. How they started and what were the connections between Isabella and her half-brothers. Although I wish Isabella could have been a bit stronger as a heroine, I find it annoying when all she says is that she hates Vasili but in the back of her mind she finds him sexy and can not stop thinking about him. Either way, it was a quick listen for me. The background sound effects were new it kind of threw me off a bit, but there was a point where it added more spice to the spicey scene Wheew!!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🔥🔥.
This book was also a glimpse into Tatiana and Adrian's relationship, it was a good book to tie up all the missing pieces from the previous books of the Belles and Mobsters series. I can't wait to start Tatiana's story. Narration was great! Troy Duran and Mackenzie Cartwright did amazing with this book.

The Den of Sin - 3.5 stars

One night in college, Isabella’s best friend/roommate’s much older brother, Vasili, takes her home after a party. Isabella has been crushing on Vasili since she met him a few years ago. When Isabella gives Vasili her virginity that night, she thinks it’s the start of something she’s wanted for so long. The next morning, he crushes her hopes by making it clear that it was a one time thing and pushing her away. Vasili knows long kept secrets affecting both of their families. He knows he can’t ever be with Isabella, so he took the one night he could have with her.

Five years later, Isabella is in a good place. She’s a doctor now and in a relationship with her long-time boyfriend. Vasili has returned to her life and turned everything upside down. Those long kept secrets Vasili knew are about to come to light. Isabella’s life is about to be burned to the ground and Vasili is holding the match. But Vasili isn’t the only one with secrets now…

Troy Duran and Mackenzie Cartwright did an excellent job bringing Vasili and Isabella to life. They are two of my favorite narrators. However, in the middle of the audiobook, suddenly there was background music and sound effects. It didn’t start until around Chapter 12 and disappeared just as quickly at Chapter 20. It was very distracting and pulled me out of the story because it was unexpected. I kept thinking another app was playing at the same time. If an audiobook is going to be dramatized, it should be done throughout the entire book.

Wow! So worth the listen!

I’m going to show my age with this review but… I want to express how much I absolutely loved this audio!
Back in the old days of radio shows, you know before tv (no, I’m not that old) my grandparents would explain the best radio shows are the ones that draw you in, helping you hear the sound effects along with the story and well, this was it for me!
I have read this book and it started my adventure into the world that Eva created.
Troy Duran can sweet talk me any day of the week. He brings his MMC to life and Mackenzie Cartwright brought Isabelle the emotion and soul I felt when reading the book! This audio with all the effects and music just made it that much better in my opinion. Duet narration is my favorite but this one hands down the best, Loved it!
Not only is this book a repeat read for me but now the audio is as well. I highly recommend!!

Awesome narration

I loved the voice actors and how they depicted the story and emotions. The voice of Vasili was pure perfection and Isabella just as well.

Love the story and narrators

I like the performance of the narrators but at points the background music made it hard to understand the words being spoken.
