After having listened to the sample of this audio (and having fallen in love with the cover), I was excited to give it a listen! So glad that I did since I barely paused this with how immersed I was within the story! Cracknell really did a phenomenal job on not only brining the characters and story to life, but even with the added effects he did of people “shouting far away” to give the sense of so, was amazing! Not to forget his sexy, gruff voice had me swooning as well🥰! MAKE SURE to really listen to the trigger warnings since this book is BRUTAL if this is not your speed! Also to note: this is told in ROMAN’S POV for the majority of the audio. loved it and will be playing this again for sure! Highly recommend checking this one out! Looking forward to more works by Bennet & Cracknell!

I got the honor of reading the ARC, but hearing Roman's story read to me brought it to a whole new level.

Roman's I'm prison and trying to survive while also protecting his best friend Levi. But Roman gets beaten in the fighting circle and his protection is gone. He is forced to be "friends" with Ezra. The things Ezra puts him through are just terrible. I want to wrap Roman in a blanket burrito and drink emotional support vodka.
Levi though he was Roman's bright light..

The narration was excellent, for sure brought the story to a whole new level. I have my head cannon for Roman and Levi. From Best to Bested was a good story but check triggers cause while it was a good story, it was a hard one. I look forward to more from this author for sure!

This waa a darkboo.k. Roman's fall from his position of power in the prison was hard to hear but the narrator said a wonderful job in showing how far he fell. Ezra is easy to hate but you want more of him.. The twist at the end was not what m expected but enjoyed.

First, if you're wondering about listening to this book, yes it's DARK and yes you may want to read the trigger warnings first.
If you dont mind triggers, then OMG go for it.
That story is so well written and really different from all I've read until now. I'm left speechless!
Nick Cracknell did a great job with his narration but I have to admit I listened it in 1.2, 1 was a bit to slow.
I don't want to say much more because I don't want to spoil any of it.

I was in the mood for something dark and this one definitely delivered! The book was depraved, and kept me intrigued the entire time. I had my guesses to the plot, which I got mostly right, despite some details. What I didn’t see coming was the twist at the very end! Ugh, yessss need the nextttt!!!

Wow, this was a book that I read and when I heard there was audio coming shortly after I knew I wanted to hear it. This world very quickly comes to life through the narration, all of our important players are given a true voice but Ezra, Levi and Roman are given new life through the voice of Nick Cracknell! Now keep in mind it is still as gritty, grimey and as dark as ever but if that entices you, read the TWs and get to listening !

I love these characters and the situations that lead to a very interesting ending. If you are hesitant to listen, its not as dark as Nicholas Bella. it has a lot of sex but the really brutal part is more memories then the actual act. The ending really surprised me, not at all what I was expecting. Narration was perfect. I had never heard Nick Cracknell narrate before. he definitely brought this story and the characters to life.
