Great book written by an amazing author narrated by an awesomely talented narrator! Must listen! Super steamy!

I was so excited for this story because there are so very few married romance books. It’s all about getting to the marriage and not keeping romance in a marriage which really is a hard topic to cover, probably. So when I saw this book I knew I had to read it and with the great reviews...it was a slam-dunk for me.

But, sadly, I was kind of disappointed. I felt there was a backdrop of marriage just to get to somewhat taboo, steamy sex scenes. And while the steam sex scenes DELIVERED....for me the story just didn’t. I wanted to care for the MC and be cheering for their marriage. It just kind of fell flat.

This book was on my TBR since Alessandra Torre announced it. I was excited to read a story about a married couple fulfilling their fantasies together. As 1/2 of a married couple, I find the romance genre lacking in stories about married couples instead being saturated in stories of singles coupling up. It was refreshing to see a story which centered around something I could relate to... or so i thought. In reality this story is more about the reality of marriage vs. the fantasy of what married life will be like. The heroine Elle, is in love with her husband but disappointed by some of the turns their life has taken and is looking for something more. Her husband Easton wants to do whatever he can to make her happy, but will that change their marriage, or their life together? This story deals with topics of divorce and infidelity and Elle thinks a lot about the things her husband should and should not know. Parts of this story were uncomfortable to listen to, and there were parts of the story where i did not like Elle, but the performance by Rose Dioro made this story enjoyable to listen to. She did a great job with the variety of characters brought heat to some steamy scenes that otherwise could have been awkward to listen to. The steamy scenes were hot hot hot, but it wasn't enough to make up for my feelings towards Elle. I am nervous to read the next book in the series, but I am hopeful I will enjoy it more having a better idea of what to expect.

Somehow lost the review I just finished a few minutes ago, so here goes again. Loved the vivid, realistic characterization and the emotional depth of the struggle Elle went through in her effort to finally face and come to terms with her previously denied and buried deepest, darkest desires. It also made for one hell of a hot story.

I love this author, but this book missed the mark. The first 75% of the book seemed to just be filler that didn’t have much to do with the main storyline. Then when the real story started, it ended in a cliffhanger. I knew this was book 1 of 2, but Torre could have removed the fluff and made this one book. I won’t buy the second book. I’m just not interested enough in the characters to care what happens next.

I love Alessandra’s book and this is just another great book. I’m thinking that mite be fun and that’s all I will say. Rose did a great job narrating to. Thanks for the book
