About this listen

The first rule of book club:
You don't talk about book club.

Nashville Legends second baseman Gavin Scott's marriage is in major league trouble. He’s recently discovered a humiliating secret: His wife Thea has always faked the Big O. When he loses his cool at the revelation, it’s the final straw on their already strained relationship. Thea asks for a divorce, and Gavin realizes he’s let his pride and fear get the better of him.

Welcome to the Bromance Book Club.

Distraught and desperate, Gavin finds help from an unlikely source: a secret romance book club made up of Nashville's top alpha men. With the help of their current read, a steamy Regency titled Courting the Countess, the guys coach Gavin on saving his marriage. But it'll take a lot more than flowery words and grand gestures for this hapless Romeo to find his inner hero and win back the trust of his wife.

Critic reviews

"Sweet and funny and emotional. I zoomed through this one Sunday, totally compelled by the romance (and the bromance!). I'm so looking forward to seeing more of this book club." (Nalini Singh, New York Times best-selling author)

"The Bromance Book Club is a you’re-gonna-burn-dinner book because you will not want to put it down. Laugh out loud with tons of heart, this is an absolutely adorable must read." (Avery Flynn, USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author)

"The Bromance Book Club is a delight! Even though Gavin is nothing less than swoon worthy, it was Adams' heroine that stole the show. With her perfect imperfections, she made me feel seen as a wife, mom, and woman. I raced to finish this book, but still never wanted it to end!" (Alexa Martin, author of Intercepted)

Editor's Pick

Dude bros read romance, hilarity ensues
"In denial about summer being over? So am I, and that's why The Bromance Book Club was just what I needed—the perfect dose of light and fluffy escapism to get over the fact that it's not even 4:30 yet and it's dark outside. The characters are refreshingly self-aware, the dialogue is consistently hilarious, and the clever callbacks to genre tropes through the titular book club are sure to make romance fans proud. Both narrators do a brilliant job of bringing the irony of the premise to life with their performances. I typically choose standalone romances over series, but in this case, I can't wait for more!"

"Heart eyes"

I used a credit based on the "editor's pick" recommendation. I then read the the premise and thought "perfect". I was NOT disappointed! This is seriously clever and not the usual romance. Lots of laughs and sweet HEA. Worth the credit. I can't wait for book 2!

a must read

My husband and I began listening to this audio book, not knowing quite what to expect. He joking said toward the end that nothing good could come from me reading this book. I disagree. we both enjoyed it. the first book we've probably shared and with the way it ends... it was that much better.

Loved this book!

This book was a breath of fresh air in the romance category. I’ve often thought that my own husband could learn a lot by reading a few of my romance books. But alas, that’s pure fantasy....LOL!
Narrators were great. I laughed every time Maxwell Caulfield began his reading.

Great Read!

I buddy listened to this with my sister and we had a lot of feelings. The main character Gavin messed up big time but through the course of the book we see him transform into a good husband and a better lover. This brought to mind a lot of things we see men refuse to do and that’s really pull into their emotions and express them. For Thea, we had mix feelings. Both parties at fault for not communicating but also Gavin wasn’t in all fault like we are to believe. He not only realizes his wrong and redeems himself but he also pushed Thea to connect with her past and fix what might have been broken in her.

The next best part of this book was the guys, the support they showed each other made you really feel and Connect to them as well. They were hilarious and kept your attention and wanting more. They are the friends you wish you had.

This book had us both wanting our husbands to listen to! Maybe they might get into romance like these guys did.

Highly recommend!

Fun and silly but with so much heart!

This book had so much heart in it, there were parts where I could feel everything these characters were feeling. My heart ached for this couple and the hard things they were going through, yet at the same time I loved the giggles that came with the book read during the book club. I love romance novels, and I love the cheesiness of the one the club reads to gain new knowledge. This author came up with such a fun book and I cannot wait to read more in the series!

Interesting premise...

This was just fun. Mostly told from the guys point of view, so it is a little crude (funny crude) in places. I loved the book within a book part. The steamy parts were steamy. Thea at times was not always likeable and Gavin needed to be less accommodating to her at times, very obvious selfishness. And her sister is very interfering..ugh. I will be reading more about the Bromance Book Club members. A feel good read that does address some pretty serious relationship issues, with a HEA. Both readers were excellent.

A Book for non romance book readers.

The story really hit home for me and gave me some "backstory" I need to do for my own issues. It really shined a light on some things I wanted to keep tucked away privately.

The narrator's voice was calming and persuasive for each character, and I really believed each one as I used my mind's eye to envision them.

I've never ready a fantasy novel in my life and after hearing the session on NPR about thos book I wanted to take a glympse into the mind of someone who was like minded.

I wasn't let down. some of the graphically told scenes made me feel in ways I haven't felt since I was a teen.

I loved the transition between his story and the fictional one he read about and how both their stories coincided.

If your looking for a good read I highly recommend.

Swoon

I accidentally read the last book in this series first, and knew I had to go back and do the rest! So glad I did - the story had me swooning and laughing. There were definitely times I was frustrated with Liv and Thea, but the guys were spectacular! Grant and Thea were so relatable as a couple. We go through seasons in our life and in our marriage - especially with young kids - so seeing that representation and seeing them fight for each other was moving.
