A man from the desert follows the Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in hopes of being martyred for Allah’s sake. After receiving a share of the spoils from a battle, he tells the Prophet that his true wish is to die in battle and enter Jannah. The Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) assures him that if he is truthful, Allah will fulfil his wish. Soon after, the man is struck by an arrow in the exact spot he had pointed to, and the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prays for him, witnessing his martyrdom.

One day, as people passed by the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he taught them the reward of giving greetings. Each greeting brought more rewards—ten, twenty, and even thirty good deeds! But when someone forgot to greet, the Prophet gently reminded him, saying, "When you come to a gathering, give the greeting. When you leave, give it again. Both greetings are just as important." This story teaches us the beauty and reward of spreading peace with a simple “Assalamu alaykum.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him and his mother) narrated a powerful story shared by the Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). In the story, two men from the children of Israel were striving for goodness. One devoted himself to worship, while the other struggled with sins. Each time the worshipper saw his companion sinning, he urged him to stop, until one day, in frustration, he declared that Allah would never forgive his companion or allow him into Jannah.

When Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was the Khalifah, he met his governor Nafi at Usfan, a valley near Makkah. Umar asked Nafi who he appointed to lead the people there, and Nafi named Ibn Abza, a former slave. Surprised, Umar questioned the choice. Nafi explained that Ibn Abza was well-versed in the Qur’an and inheritance law. Umar then recalled a saying of the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

While "The River" speaks of creating harmony from complexity, other poems honor various people in the author's life. When the sun became dark one day, people wondered why its light had disappeared. On that same day, the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had lost his beloved son, Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), and some thought the eclipse was because of his passing.

One day, suffering from intense hunger, he lay on the ground, tying a stone to his belly. A tired, hungry man once came to the Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for help. When there was no food at home, the Prophet asked if anyone could host the man for the night so that Allah would have mercy on them. An Ansari man volunteered, but he and his wife had only enough food for their children. They chose to put their children to bed hungry, giving all they had to their guest.

In a remarkable encounter, the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) purchased a horse from a Bedouin and invited him to follow so he could pay the price. As the Prophet walked briskly, the Bedouin lagged behind, unaware that others were trying to buy the horse from him. When the Bedouin called out to the Prophet, questioning the validity of their transaction, a dispute arose.
