King Sweyn Forkbeard, the king of Denmark, uses their clan to help in his dream of defeating the Norwegians and then taking the throne of England.

Sir Thomas, Hero of Arsuf, rides to war again! When a king asks a baron to go on crusade it is an order not a request and, as such, is not to be ignored. The Earl of Cleveland has done his duty for his King and for the Pope many times over but he and his son, William,are chosen as token gesture to placate an unhappy Pope. Leaving England with a handful of men and untried and young knights, the old campaigner travels across Europe to join a crusade which is going nowhere. In a land riven with conspiracies and plots on both sides, Sir Thomas is beset by enemies.

Sámr Ship Killer has been rescued, but that is only half the story, for his family has been taken as hostages to Norway. Without any ships, he is helpless to find them, and then the sisters begin to spin. Erik Black Toe, who carried the standard for the Dragonheart, returns with news. The family is found, but in dire straits and cruelly treated by Uddulfr the Sly. The Clan of the Fox comes to the aid of the Wolf once more, and Fótr, along with Ebbe and Bear Tooth, sail ‘Gytha’ across the seas to Norway.

The Dragon Heart has come of age and sets off with his Ulfheonar to fight the Saxons. A chance visit to a cave brings him face to face with his past and changes his life forever. Fighting both Saxons and Hibernians on land and on sea, he and his warriors conquer the land of Anglesey. Before they can enjoy the fruits of victory, they face an enemy from the past who returns to haunt them.

England, AD 1266. The kingdom lies in ruins after years of bitter civil war. Simon de Montfort is dead, slaughtered in battle, and his surviving followers fight on with the fury of despair. Henry of Monmouth, Prince Hal, is barely recovered from a near-fatal wound when his father leaves him to retake his land. Owain Glendower and Edmund Mortimer, however, have French allies and the most inhospitable landscape to aid them. All that Prince Hal has to guide him is the guardian of kings, Will Strongstaff. The two of them have to fight treachery and those who count money as well as more traditional enemies, the Welsh archers.

The world of Dragon Heart is thrown into confusion when they become the target of their Viking brothers. Raiders come from every direction to take what Dragon Heart and his people have built. This is the time of Viking fighting Viking for control of the land that will become England.
