David Fitzgerald - Jesus Isn’t Real
    Divorced: Southern Baptist Christianity

Author David Fitzgerald is an award-winning writer, historical researcher, and atheist activist who lectures internationally at universities and secular events, and is a frequent guest on many podcasts.

David has been a passionate advocate for atheism, civil rights, counter-apologetics, and secular humanism his entire adult life. He is best known for his books Nailed, and The Complete Heretic's Guide to Western Religion, including Jesus: Mything in Action. David’s latest book is PLAYING GOD: An Evolutionary History of World Religion, Volumes 1-3.

In this episode, David shares that what we formerly knew about the origins and founders of world religions has been turned on its head – and that Jesus, Moses, Mohammed, and Buddha never existed in the first place!

Richard A. Kiers - Christian Cult Survivor
    Divorced: Fundamentalist Christianity

CW: Brief mention of CSA and suicidality

My guest today is author and cult survivor Richard A. Kiers. Richard was born in Canada to Dutch parents. When he was 10, Richard’s parents joined a Group called "The Move" and relocated their family to a commune in British Columbia in 1972.

It turned out that The Move was a cult, led by Sam Fife, which at one time had over 40,000 members. Richard wrote a book about his cult experiences called Swindled by Faith: A Time for Reconciliation. He also has a private FB group for cult survivors, called Silent Voices, and he is working on a podcast by the same name.

In Richard’s own words: I lived there for only a few short years when I realized I had to leave or die. I have spent the rest of my life learning to be me.
