• From Behind Prison Bars to a Successful Entrepreneur - Jordan Lahy Explains How Mindset Can Conquer All
    Nov 6 2023

In today's episode Leah and Paul talk with Jordan Lahy, owner of Inside Out Cleaning LLC.  Six years ago Jordan's life was very different and on a very different path, he was finishing out a 9 year prison sentence in the Virginia State Prison System.  Leah and Paul go into great detail with Lahy learning how he was able to completely transform his life through a positive mindset.

Lahy explains that he learned his janitorial skills in prison through a program offering work to inmates who exemplify good behavior.  While incarcerated Jordan read many books on self improvement and mindset and he began to incorporate what he was learning into his life.  He made a vision board, he did affirmations, and believed in the power of positive thinking.  When Jordan was released he jumped into the unknown of starting a janitorial business with the positive mindset skills and cleaning skills he had honed while behind bars.

Fast forward 6 years later, and now Jordan has a thriving janitorial business with multiple major corporate contracts.  He has followed his goal of becoming a motivational speaker at multiple churches and soon to be online.  And he is engaged to the love of his life and has a beautiful new baby boy.  Jordan has completely transformed his life in to more than he could ever imagine, all through the power of a positive mindset.

Listen to today's episode to get inspired to transform your life today!

If you are interested in booking Jordan Lahy for a speaking event, motivational speaking he can be reached though his Facebook Page Jordan Lahy (where you'll see a picture of the car he manifested through his vision board while incarcerated).  He can also be reached through the Inside Out Cleaning LLC Facebook page

  • "Work Doesn't Have To Suck!" Chad Gono Tells Us How
    Jul 13 2023

In today's episode Paul and Leah have a chat with Chad Gono, the CEO of Regal Plastics and he explains to us how "Work Doesn't Have to Suck."  This is not only his LinkedIn tagline, but it is what he genuinely believes and uses as his leadership compass.
Growing up Chad was not looking to work at his family's business because he wasn't interested in plastics and he had an entrepreneurial spirit and wanted to foster it.  But after some time he decided to join the business from the bottom up.  He found that it was just a job for most employees and he felt people should really enjoy what they are spending most of their days doing.  So Gono was on a mission to create a work environment that employees loved, and a place where people wanted to go.  Fast forward to today's culture at Regal Plastics and you will find a place where employees are friends and are choosing to hang out with each other outside of the workplace.
Gono talks about how their mission  went from a price tag and the bottom line to creating 500 stories in 10 years of how their company is helping to create a better world.  In this conversation I truly grasped the fact that changing the world to be a better place can be done anywhere and with any company/business.  Regal Plastics is using the sale of plastics as their vehicle to bring more good to this world.
We discuss the idea of using work culture to win the war on talent in a time where it is hard to find good employees.  They use the idea of not focusing on the work stuff and profits and spending more time focusing on the life stuff to get people to want to work at their company.

Chad Gono is continuing to spread his word of how work doesn't have to suck on his social media platforms.  His posts are inspirational and are spreading words of kindness.  Be sure to follow him on LinkedIn at Chad Gono
    and on TikTok at Chadgono

  • Going All In On Your Passion, Fantasy Football Hobby Into A Full-time Business with Mikey Henninger
    Mar 8 2023

In today's episode Paul and Leah chat with Mikey Henninger, a fantasy football enthusiast who found a way to make his hobby a full time business.  This episode is high energy and full of laughs as they discuss Mikey's path from corporate sales and marketing to deciding to go all in on his fantasy football research hobby he had started on the side.  They talk about the vital roll Mikey's wife played in pushing him to make the final decision and how she has continued to support and motivate him as a solopreneur.

Henninger had started a fantasy football player research  spreadsheet he had called the heat map as a fun side project.  He was uploading it weekly to Reddit and gathered quite the following.  As readers found the information useful they voluntarily started donating to Henninger to motivate him to continue his small passion project.  After a feeling of burnout in his corporate marketing job, he thought since people liked his heat map enough to donate money for it, maybe they would pay for it.  And in that became the makings of Henninger's fantasy football business called Basement Brewed Fantasy Football.  And now, eleven months later he has expanded to offer much more than just the heat map, including the white glove treatment of helping to choose players.  Henninger has aspirations to scale his business in sports betting assistance as well as other sports.

This episode is both entertaining and inspiring.   If you have a passion or hobby you have been thinking about turning into a business, you will truly be inspired to see that it is fully possible and rewarding!

  • 3 Ideas To Help Drive Productive Change As a Leader with Alan Shoebridge
    Feb 21 2023

Today Paul and Leah chat with Alan Shoebridge, The Associate Vice President of National Communication at Providence, a multi-state comprehensive Health Care Organization based out of Portland, Oregon.  Shoebridge discusses how their health care organization has continued to be proactive and progressive throughout the stresses of the Pandemic.

We were very impressed with Shoebridge's abilities as a leader in such an ever-changing, stressful industry to continually try to put his employee's lives first.  He tells us that as a leader in an industry that is so hands on and currently understaffed and over worked he tries to eliminate any unneeded work by asking, "Am I making this harder than it needs to be without any added value, what can we eliminate?"

The Health Care Industry has been a whirlwind of fast paced changes since the onset of Covid, with policies constantly changing and adapting to the current situations. Shoebridge explains that one of their leadership strategies is to start with a plan and be prepared to adapt with the ebbs and flows of the industry.

Shoebridge has many great ideas to help be a progressive leader.   He can be found on  Linked In Alan Shoebridge and on Twitter @alanshoebridge.  And be sure to check out his informative blog on his website at www.alanshoebridge.com

  • How To Have a "Good Divorce" with Google's VP of Global Marketing Operations, Sarah Armstrong
    Feb 7 2023

Today Leah and Paul are talking with Sarah Armstrong, Google's Vice President of Global Marketing Operations and author of The mom's Guide To A Good Divorce:  What To Think Through When Children Are Involved.   Her book on how to have a "good divorce" was created from her own life experience, in an effort to help other mother's in the same situation.

Sarah explains that 13 years ago she and her ex husband went through a divorce, when their child, Grace was seven years old.  She and her ex husband were determined to make sure that their divorce had the least amount of impact on their daughter as possible.  In doing so the two of them worked very hard at making sure the process was amicable and little strain on Grace's life style.  After successfully pulling off a "Good Divorce" and years of lending advice to her friends who were going through divorce with children, she choose to write this book to help other mother's who are where she was.

Sarah had so many great tips to assist in the process.  Tips that we should all be implementing in our lives, whether you are going through divorce or not.  There are discussions around how to set boundaries and share them aloud, how to plan out family calendars, and how to make dedicated time for your kid and for yourself.

Visit Sarah Armstrong on her website www.momsguidetogooddivorce.com/ or on LinkedIn.
Her book, The Mom's Guide To a Good Divorce: What To Think Through When Children Are Involved can be purchased in hardback through Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, Ibooks, and Book Depository; or listen to it on Audible.

  • Stroke Survivor and Author Marcia Moran: Stroke Forward
    Sep 29 2022

Today we talk with Marcia Moran, a stroke survivor who fought to live a productive life post stroke.  Hearing Marcia's long battle to recovery is a true inspiration!  She shares with us how she continued to fight for her ability to walk and talk again even after the insurance companies had discontinued her coverage.

Marcia walks us through her entire experience and the thoughts and mindset she adapted to persevere through until she was fully recovered and able to live the life she wanted.  We discuss the numerous treatments she sought out and paid for herself to help her speak and walk again.

A year after the stroke Marcia began writing about her experience, and then decided she was going to use those experiences to help other stroke survivors in her situation by writing a book called Stroke Forward: How To Become Your Own Healthcare Advocate...One Step At A Time.  We learned that Marcia not only had to learn how to walk and talk again, but she also had to learn how to read and spell again while she was in the process of writing her book.  Moran not only became a successful author, but has become a life and health coach for other stroke and brain injury survivors.  As well as a podcaster, and was featured in another book called Just Say "Yes" To Life!: Stories Of Thriving After Stroke  written by Stroke Awareness Oregon.

  • From Small Business Owner Entrepreneur To Ohio's 7th District Congressional Candidate, Matthew Diemer
    Sep 20 2022

In today's episode we talk with Ohio's 7th District Congressional Candidate Matthew Diemer.   Previous to running for office Diemer was and is an author of an educational book on Crypto, a  small business owner of a Podcast Media company, as well as a Podcast Host.  We discuss the changes, adjustments, and temporary sacrifices he had to choose to make in order to make this race the top priority in his life.  The conversations are very much like a lot of other conversations we have with our guests on subjects such as communication skills, intentional thinking, and mindset.  However, Matthew has a great spin he puts on our concept of putting life first.  He does a great job of explaining that "life" is what you choose it to be, the priorities you choose to put first.  We discuss the concept of prioritizing and intentional thinking about certain things in your life order to hyper focus on what matters most to you at that set time.

Matthew explains to us how his platform was formed by seeing things he wanted changed in his home town and deciding to be that change.  He believes strongly in communicating with all sides to make sure everyone is represented for what they truly believe and want.  We also discuss the concept of going all in on something but to also give yourself some grace.  That as humans, not every day is going to be our best day, and not every interview is going to be our best interview.  We genuinely appreciate Matthew's chatting with us and offering us his honest and insightful statements.
