he Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Visionaries of the Year campaign kicked off its 10-week fundraising effort to raise $75,000 to support cancer research.

The campaign featuring 11 candidates will end on May 9 with a grand celebration, where the candidate who raises the most funds will be declared the winner.

Randy Ollis, a beloved figure, is lending his name and platform to the campaign, motivated by his personal experience with cancer eight years ago.

He emphasized the importance of research, especially for younger patients, and expressed gratitude for the advancements that helped him during his treatment.

Allie Clyne, the honored hero volunteer, expressed her excitement and nervousness about being part of the campaign. She emphasized the importance of staying positive and making friends during challenging times, offering advice to other children diagnosed with cancer.

  • Marlin Jackson's "Fight for Life" campaign supports local students
    Jan 24 2025

On Jan. 21, 2007 the Indianapolis Colts faced the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship. The Colts had a history of losing to Tom Brady and the Patriots, but this year was different.

Late in the game, Colts cornerback Marlin Jackson intercepted Brady’s pass to seal the win and send the Colts to the Super Bowl.

Nearly two decades later that play is still one of the greatest in franchise history. Now, the former Indianapolis Colts player is using his winning moment to help the community.

Jackson, who now lives in Noblesville, founded an organization called Fight for Life. The nonprofit partners with educators to provide space for youth to process their experiences and circumstances so they can have winning moments.

Through that organization a new campaign has been started to help local students and schools.

You can be a part of the #winningmoments campaign as well. The campaign works with youth and educators to look for personal winning moments, both on an individual basis and from within the community.

Marlin stopped by the Life.Style.Live! set to discuss the organization and the campaign.

  • How clothing can boost mental health and confidence
    Jan 20 2025

Fashion is more than just a way to express style—it’s also a powerful tool for boosting mental health and confidence. According to Jennifer Heinen, a fashion psychologist, the clothes we wear can significantly impact our emotional well-being.

The relationship between fashion and mental health is deeper than many realize. Heinen explains that our clothing choices influence how we see ourselves and how others perceive us. Research shows that wearing clothes associated with confidence can reduce anxiety and improve emotional regulation.

Clothing is also an important form of self-expression, helping individuals convey their identity and emotions.

Heinen suggests choosing clothes that align with your goals and values, which can open doors to new opportunities.

For those struggling with mental health, fashion can be a way to feel more empowered, especially during the winter months when seasonal changes can lead to feelings of isolation or sadness. Heinen recommends starting small, such as choosing clothing that brings comfort or makes you smile.

Heinen encourages people to embrace fashion as a tool for emotional well-being, reminding us that it’s not about trends but connecting with what makes us feel authentic and strong.
