  • #259: From Wrongfully Imprisoned + 7 Year Legal Battle to Recreating Success with David Israel
    Sep 29 2024

Welcome Back to another episode of "A Mental Health Break"

In today’s episode, we’re joined by David Israel, a truly inspiring individual who overcame incredible adversity after being wrongfully accused of a crime he didn’t commit. After enduring a 7-year legal battle and having his life turned upside down by negative media, David struggled with how to move forward, often feeling like a burden to those around him. But with the support of his family and a strong will to rebuild his life, he found a way back.

David will share his powerful story of resilience, how a letter proclaiming his innocence changed everything, and how he started over from scratch. He’ll dive into the importance of developing routines, the power of family, and refusing to be defined by his past.

During his incarceration, David wrote the business plan for POP! Gourmet, inspired by seeing fellow prisoners create a unique popcorn snack. After his release, he turned that plan into reality, founding the award-winning POP! Gourmet in 2011. Today, David is the Founder and co-CEO of GOOD PLANeT Foods, one of the fastest-growing food companies in the market, with distribution in 18 countries. Committed to giving back, David ensures that 23% of POP! Gourmet employees are former prisoners, providing them the chance to rebuild their lives as he did.

Tune in for a story of perseverance, second chances, and the journey from rock bottom to incredible success.
