About this listen

A NATIONAL BESTSELLER

A powerful memoir about one woman who resurrects her life and career in the glamorous but sexist wine industry.

Natalie MacLean, a bestselling wine writer, is shocked when her husband of twenty years, a high-powered CEO, demands a divorce. Then an online mob of rivals comes for her career.

Wavering between despair and determination, she must fight for her son, rebuild her career, and salvage her self-worth using her superpowers: heart, humor, and an uncanny ability to pair wine and food.

Natalie questions her insider role in the slick marketing that encourages women to drink too much while she battles the wine world's veiled misogyny. Facing the worst vintage of her life, she reconnects with the vineyards that once brought her joy, the friends who sustain her, and her own belief in second chances.

This true coming-of-middle-age story is about transforming your life and finding love along the way.

Cinematic & suspenseful!

Wine Witch on Fire is riveting (and I’m not even a drinker). The author’s narration is divine, too. As she tells her story, I feel like I’m watching a movie. I can't wait to see how she triumphs in the end!

Interesting Vulnerable Memoir through a tough time coming out the other side better

This book touched me personally with its content and thus it was so relatable!

If you want a great memoir that will surprise you with its non-sensationalized vulnerability, then Wine Witch on Fire is for you.

Don’t drink wine? Don’t be fooled as wine or alcohol consumption is not needed to enjoy this gem!

The audio is read by the author and to me makes it even more special. I love when authors read their own books.

Natalie Maclean’s memoir is what you need if only to learn a few things the easy way not the hard way. I can only imagine how hard this was to put out there!

I admire her and think she did an absolutely amazing job. She should be very very proud.

I found so much of it relatable and will tell many of my friends to read or listen to this!

Inspriring

Great story, well read, well written. Unfortunate that Natalie had to endure her "worst vintage", yet I loved how she persevered through it. And I applaud the way she told the story, turning a huge negative into a incredibly positive message. And - the fact that Natalie narrated her own memoir - what other choice could be made? Great work all around!

Riveting and inspiring!

Natalie Maclean narrates this riveting tale of her horrible, awful, no-good year. She shares her vulnerabilities as life throws her one challenge after another, and emerges through it all, showing her true inner strength. Her narration is pitched just right, making you feel that you are sitting together on a couch sharing her revelations in person. I highly recommend that you curl up in your favourite armchair and listen to this inspiring story. It's this summer's ideal way to beat the heat!

Her journey

I always love hearing other peoples' journeys and it was very interesting to hear about how her relationship with wine has evolved through some of her significant life events.

I listened out of order with this being her newest book but enjoyed this one so much I now have her other previous ones on my list 😊
