About this listen

As our children and teens race down the onramp to the Information Superhighway, many parents feel left behind in the dust. News stories about online sexual predators, child pornography, cyberbullies, hate groups, gaming addiction, and other dangers that lurk in the online world make us feel increasingly concerned about what our children are doing (and with whom) in cyberspace.

Who are the Kids Behind the Screen provides you with need-to-know information about those online dangers and gives you the practical parenting strategies necessary to help children and teens learn to use the Internet safely and responsibly.

Parents protect younger children by keeping them in safe places, teaching them simple safety rules, and paying close attention. As children grow, we help them gain the knowledge, skills, and values to make good choices - choices that will keep them safe and show respect for the rights of others. In Who are the Kids Behind the Screen, Eric shows you how those same strategies can be translated from the real world to the cyberworld, and that you don't have to learn advanced computer skills to put them into effect. As you work on these strategies with your child, you will also discover that remaining engaged with what your children are doing online is much more valuable than any blocking software you could buy.

Internet safety and responsibility

Who are the Kids Behind the Screen
By: Eric Reese
Narrated by: Alyssa Sullivan

As internet enthusiast, I find my life would be impossible without internet and my computer. I liked the book since it concerned very important subject. We are living in the internet world and cannot escape it or try to live without it. Everything is online, our lives, private, business and social lives. It is impossible to imagine the world now without internet and why should we?? It is ok to use it, however, there should be some precaution for children and their use. This book gives information about online dangers and provides advice for parents to ensure their kids use the internet safely. The book helps to teach children and teens to use the Internet safely and responsibly. The author seems to have much knowledge on the internet, its positive and negative sides and provides strategies to implement in real life situations. Talking and teaching should be the way to work with youth since restrictions are impossible. The narrator provided enjoyable voice and sounded really pleasurable to listen. This audiobook is only 32 mins, so enough to listen while run or go somewhere.

My hope is that this review helps in your decision to obtain this book :)
