This is not a Novel but a start of a Series

I think it needs to be clear when you are starting a series instead of a stand alone novel. The book is a decent set up to a series but so many things are introduced and nothing is tied off that it was frustrating. There seems to be too many lose ends that I’m not sure if I will continue. Decent FMC and spice but it felt like a lot of cliches lumped together.

Amazing!!

Unique story that hits all the right tropes. Assassins, dragons, romance, heartache, vengeance. Also the narrators are great, especially Sarah. I think I like her male voice better than the male narrators. Can’t wait until the next one!!

Good for Book 1 of a Series

Good Book 1 of the series. Interested to see how this develops for the long term story. Very lengthy. Felt like it could’ve been condensed.

Regarding characters: Loved Kaan. The downfall was that he was an unattainable person. Flawless in essentially every way (Smart and fair King. Hot and muscled warrior. Generous and passionate lover. AND has a heart of gold?!?!?!) Frustrated with Raeve. Reminded me somewhat of Nesta from ACOTAR with her lashing out and lack of acceptance of help or love. It’ll be a long character development road for her, which was setup nicely for the series. I hope she gets peace and answers.

Regarding Plot: Liked the multiple POV. Liked the Romance subplot, great spice toward the end. Personally - the motivations and reasons were split and hard to invest in what we need to root for the most. Its vengeance, its revenge, its stopping war, its memory recovery - very good but also I want an identified goal.

Reader (listener) note: this author has a specific writing style. Very wordy sentences and lots of adjectives!

Great story

I loved this book so much! It was well written and narrated. I love the story and the characters. It is a must read! I cannot wait for the second book! if you are looking for spice this doesn't have much but it's still a very food read and a good romance. I love that the book has dragons as well.

Amazing story!

This book has such an amazing story line, I was captivated the entire time! This is the only 5 star review I have ever left. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to stop listening to the audiobook and switch to the actual book to make the story last longer! Narration was amazing as well!

I love the cliff hanger

This book was so good for me. I love the characters, how the story leads in to the secrets 🤫 and how things come to a light at the end of a book. It is a cliffhanger but I’m so excited for book 2!

A Phenomenal masterpiece

Wow!!! My socks were blown across the room. The world building and character development are so rich and encapsulating.
This is like the symphonic version of fourth wing with less angst and more depth.

Magical!

I enjoyed the narration and feel like the performers really complimented each other. I really loved the writing style and magic of this book too! The magical creatures, creator lore, and world building was beautiful. Artfully crafted really. I’m going to have to get a hard copy of this one too. Can’t wait for the next book!

The female narrator was amazing but the male wasn’t my favorite. The story however, was phenomenal
