About this listen

It was just another day in the Emergency Department - until she was wheeled in through the doors.

Amanda Parks, my childhood best friend's mom, who I may or may not have secretly kissed before leaving for college.

I haven't seen her in over a decade, and in so many ways, she hasn't changed.

Same killer curves.

Same hypnotizing eyes.

Same reaction from my heart when I see her.

But something new? There isn't a ring on her finger anymore...

And I'm much more of a man than I was at eighteen.

Washed Up is a stand-alone, age-gap, medical romance in the Bayside Heroes series!

Age-Gap and Forbidden Romance!

I read it, and I liked the audiobook version. This book is part of the Bayside Heroes, a multi-authors series. Amanda and Greg's story is beautifully written, and heartwarming. Amanda is a beautiful survivor, strong, and determined. Greg is handsome, caring, and supportive. They are perfect together. This is a great forbidden and age-gap medical romance. I enjoyed it! Hannah Chiclana and Edward Black did a good job with the narration. I enjoyed it.

Beautiful story

For women who are older, you will totally get Amanda’s fears and doubts, the narrative that age makes us somehow less… it was easy to get caught up in this story. I felt this book and experienced the joys and pains. Easy to love Greg too!! A great read/listen!

Loved it!

Beautiful age gap, medical romance. Slow burn and great chemistry, Greg and Amanda’s connection can be felt from the second they meet again. A sweet, forbidden love story that will have you swooning until the very end. A wonderful job to both narrators portraying Greg and Amanda.

Reverse Age Gap May Be My New Fave Trope

Fantastic narrators..the audiobook edition needs to be added to Good Reads! Edward Black and Hannah Chiclana have been added to my auto listens!
This book started a little hard for me only because I am a mother of three boys and can't imagine having a relationship with one of their friends. However let's step back and look at these amazing characters that Kandi developed. Amanda who is starting over after finally leaving a life of domestic violence and abuse. I could relate to everything she felt as I myself lived it. It is hard to put yourself out there at all because your feelings of inadequacy and self worth is so low. Greg was patient , kind and was a true best friend . He reminded her what it meant to live for herself, to have fun and embrace life with every moment. They made a bucket list together and he helped her climb in more ways than one. He was more McDreamy than any doctor on Grey's Anatomy. The end of this book without spoiling it ..made me angry with Amanda , because as a single mom making a home is what your biggest goal besides raising tiny humans. Greg telling her SHE was his home was the most beautiful declaration..and he gave all of it 100 times over. So glad I bought the audiobook I know this is one I will listen to again.

An Emotional Age Gap Romance

In true Kandi Steiner fashion she puts our hearts through the wringer with Washed Up. I usually have a harder time believing an age gap between and older woman and younger man however with this story everything is laid out on the table and you can feel the emotions between these two! Being that her love interest is her son's best friend you also have that added taboo part.

The story held all the real worries and reactions one could have with the situations these characters came across. From the abuse to divorce to learning to love yourself and finding who you are again. Beautiful story!

The narration combo of Hannah Chiclana and Edward Black were perfect for Greg and Amanda and really brought this story to life!

Great hook that delivered

This book had a great hook and it followed through really well. Age gap, medical professional, shared history/second chance.

A woman going through divorce from her P of S abusive ex ends up in a car accident. When she's being put under by her emergency surgery team, she recognizes her anesthesiologist. He was her son's best friend in high school, but now he's grown up and time has been very kind to him. While loopy from the drugs and falling asleep, she tells him so.

While Amanda is working on pulling her life back together post accident, her son invites Greg back into the fold to help out. It's been a long time since Greg saw her, since he left for college having barely kissed the gorgeous married older woman, but as soon as he starts spending time with her, he doesn't want to stop.

I loved Amanda and Greg. and Hannah Chiclana & Edward Black did an amazing job of bringing them to life. There were a lot of emotions in this one, past trauma from abuse (emotional and physical) on Amanda's side, less than warm home environment on Greg's but these two found strength and warmth and home in each other. They each brought forth a full range of emotions that I loved experiencing. Edward Black can tell me I'm a bada$$ any day.

This story had the added fun of being part of a shared world with 3 other authors. Many of the characters from the other books were part of this story and it makes me want to experience their tales. Washed Up is first so you don't need to know anything else, but I'm left wondering how much of the shared scenes in this story will appear in the others... I love continuity.

Move over Stella, Amanda's got her groove back

I absolutely adored this book! Being 43 and on my second marriage, her life resonated with me. I went through that same struggle after my first divorce and went to college as well. I’m almost finished with my grad degree. So Amanda’s story felt real and relatable to me. I don’t have a young sexy Dr for my second husband, but I love him none-the-less. Greg is so perfect for Amanda. He’s the breath of fresh air her life needed. She finally gets to feel what it's like to be loved and cherished. It was so great watching Amanda grow and gain confidence in herself. She and Greg had a friendship first, working on their bucket lists together. It led to them growing a strong bond, giving them true intimacy with and trust in each other. It also led to a slow burn with an explosive climax. This story was perfect, and Amanda is up there with my favorite heroines. Move over Stella, Amanda’s got her groove back! Thank you to Valentine PR and the author for gifting me this amazing audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

“He’s just it for me. As f...ed up and inconvenient as it is, he’s the one my heart wants, the one my body craves, the one who sees the me no one else ever has. And I know I’m it for him, too.”

Hannah Chiclana and Edward Black were cast perfectly for their roles. Their pitch, pace, timing, and flow were perfect. Their styles and characterizations meshed perfectly together which other. It was clear they felt a connection with the story. Their delivery made you feel each emotion as if it were your own. I strongly recommend the audiobook version of Washed Up!

Nice age gab with some forbidden elements

I’m not big into age-gap romances, nothing wrong with them in my eye but they’ve never really interested me. However, Kandi Steiner is an author that interests me and I follow her around waiting for her next book. I enjoyed Amanda and Greg immensely. Amanda is going through a divorce and is excited to start over, starting with school. When an accident throws Amanda back into Greg’s life things get spicy! Greg lives so many guys wet fantasies here… getting to know his best friend’s mom on a more personal level! At face value it seems very rated x but this is more than behind closed doors. Greg and Amanda really develop a friendship and depend on each other.

Steiner’s writing is fabulous! She develops the characters with real and true flaws. I absolutely adored Greg and Amanda was a fierce and strong woman. This is a delicious slow burn romance with some forbidden elements tossed in. I loved that it’s the start of a series with 2 other authors and we get to see the characters cross over into each other’s books. The narration by Hannah Chiclana and Edward Black was overall good. They both were able to bring the characters to life and really added a pulse to the story. I wish Chiclana sounded a tad older. It’s hard to hear her as a 47-year-old woman but that’s my biggest complaint. Black was amazing as Greg.

Washed Up

I already read the book and loved it.
So I really enjoyed to listen to it too.

A story full of emotions... from laughter to wet eyes. In this book you'll find everything.

I love stories with age gap - especially this one, because the heroine is the older one.
Kandi filled this book with so much emotion and heart, that you can feel the feelings of Greg and Amanda.
