A storyline that is ahead of its Victorian Era!!!

As far as victorian time era storylines go, this one was very intriguing and captivating. Emily is a very self driven, independent and a go getter. Her main goal is to become a veterinarian. She reminded me of Elizabeth Bennett, from Pride and Prejudice. Females who didn't follow or care about society standards, rules or etiquette. The narration was very good and the narrator gave lots of emotion to each and every character. There is also another sub-story, besides the main, which is as captivating as well.

Loved the story. Couldn't stop listening. I really like Emily Sutton Smith as the Narrator and how she can change her voice for each character. Definitely recommend.

Not my favorite LS novel for sure!

It was just okay, which is surprising since I’ve loved everything from LaVryle Spencer so far, but this one was a little too sad. And the characters didn’t speak to me as most of her characters usually do, so I was a bit disappointed. Felt a little cheated. However, it is still worth a listen though!

Like an old friend telling me a beautiful story

I have read this book once a year since it first came out all those years ago, I am so happy to now have it to listen to - the narration is beautifully done and the story is so fun and heartwarming

The only thing I didn’t like

Was the gd’s at the end. Why do people think gd’s are necessary? It’s anti-Christian, which is going to make you lose some readers. (if you repeatedly use that word)

My absolute favorite of LaVyrle Spencer’s books!

I’ve read VOWS many times and am thrilled that it’s now available in audio. The story grabs you from the beginning and the characters become family. The narrator did a great job, too. I just wish it had a sequel to satisfy my curiosity about one of the characters who…..lets say….needs a story of it’s own. I highly recommend this book to historical romance readers. Well done.
