Linnea Bradenborg expects to find culture and excitement in Alamo, North Dakota, where she's recently been hired as the new schoolteacher. Westgaard thinks twice about bringing Linnea home to live with him, but he soon realizes that he has no choice. All of the town's past schoolteachers have lived with the Westgaard family - made up of Theodore, his mother, and his teenaged son - due to their farm being located very near the schoolhouse, and so Theodore allows Linnea into his home. But who could have guessed that this young, independent woman would soon find her way into the handsome farmer's heart?

A compelling classic to be listened to again and again, Years is a fitting tribute to the pioneer schoolteachers who braved many hardships to share the gift of knowledge with countless children.

Beautiful!

One of the best books i have read in a long time. The story is very heart warming and very true to real life! i would read it again. i also like the narrator she is good at doing voices and not boring at all!

not into the narrator

not wild about the narrator.
the way she draws out the last word of every sentence .
her tones aren nerve racking

Love the characters and the story was developed really well. Would have loved to know if the son made it home in the end though.

Humorous and Heart warming story

Great character development , The humor among the characters was my favourite part.
There was some sad moments,but you still get your happy ending

Wonderful Story

This was another great LaVyrle Spencer story. I had a hard time getting into it as the narrator was an acquired taste but thanks to one of your reviewers thoughts on the narrator’s work I sped up the reading to 110 and immediately found Susan’s reading to be entertaining and enjoyable. The book was beautifully written, I look forward to reading another by LaVyrle.

the love of family and respect for each other

this is a wonderful book. I really enjoyed it! This is a great book. I thought it was slow but the ending was very good.

Terrible narration

I’ve read this story many times and it’s a very enjoyable book, but this narrator is abysmal and monotone. How is the world did she get this job?

Wonderful

I loved this book in the 90’s and I love it even more now. The narrator did a wonderful job and the story is so good! Love that these LaVyrle Spencer books are being put on Audible!
