About this listen

I've been abducted by an alien in a cowboy hat.

He needs me to play the role of fake fiancée to appease his family of tentacle-tailed cops. I'll keep up the charade as long as I need if it means being reunited with Abraxas and Rurik. It shouldn't be too hard, right? To play pretend…

My life force is now inextricably tied to handsome, gun-totin' Officer Hyt. But do you know what happens if my new in-laws find out that I'm mated to three different males? Intergalactic war, that's what.

Eve Wakefield here, currently stationed on the water planet, Yaoh. I've been subject to all sorts of unimaginable cruelty since landing here: family drama, ill-fitting bathing suits, and Hyt's horrible childhood friend. This woman is not only in love with my (fake) mate, but she's also disturbingly perceptive. If she tells the Chief of Police that his son and I are liars, we're dead. Did I mention that liars are executed here?

And what about the king and queen, the ones stuck on that horrible spaceship? Liars might be killed on Hyt's planet, but Rurik's people won't stand for adultery. If they find out, they'll do worse; they'll start eating planets and they won't stop.

Ah, hell. I did not intend to be crowned the queen of aliens. It sounds like the dumbest dumb-dumb alien romance plot ever. But if that's the only way to save the people I love, can I do it?

Wear the crown, take the throne, save the universe. Yeah, I got this.

Venery is book three in the For the Love of Aliens trilogy, a why-choose/reverse harem alien romance. In the series finale, we'll see what it looks like when Eve's three alien males come together, find out what it really means when a spaceship eats something, and see our beloved caterer/queen of the universe get the ending she deserves. Narrated in duet style.

That narration! And A.S.S.es for life!

I wish all novels were narrated in this style. Truly…that male narrator was incredible and I will be looking for his other works and listening to all of them. The vocal flexibility and character consistency was truly professional…which is rare in romance and even more so when things get weird.

Loved the first book, wasn’t sure about the second (as I hated the mothmen) until I came around to the moth prince being a ethical character, the last book is the alien I’d most want to find…ooooh tentacles!!! Male characters of character, who also produce ecstasy, then have weird things below that just happen to line up with human kinks…sigh. The drowning in splooge had me at a gag point, but that’s a personal preference. They’d need a laundry service everywhere they went!

Unique amongst the genre, while making fun of the genre…and acknowledging there are quite a few A.S.S.es in the reading and listening audience (for heck’s sake, I get a text from a company selling an alien self pleasure aid pack at least once a month…it goes out to all women! A.S.S.es everywhere!)

Best

Best book I’ve listened to in a long time. Really enjoyed it. The first two were great but this one was full of world building.

Bug Sex and Bug Ick

This series has more sex than plot, so watch out of that isn’t your thing. Also, if you haven’t figured out by now one of the main male leads is a bug, his parents are bugs, other aliens are bugs, etc. If bugs freak you out then avoid this series. I had to fast forward through a lot of the bug scenes.

Beautiful

Summary a tad
So book 3 is a long one.
Starts off with her going to be saved by the cowboy alien. They go to his home and his plan to save her ends up blowing up in his face because they get bonded together. Now they must play the new mates game. His family happens to be racist against everything and makes everything hard. She’s a hard cookie and makes it through uncomfortable situations. They end up falling for each other. During there new love. Her other mate is starving and the other one is being poisoned.
They eventually make it back together but learning to share is something they all have to learn. Because they can’t be split.
One set of in laws who want to kill them or cage them to a Thorne. Another set in laws who are hate them. Everyone in the alien race who don’t believe in a poly relationship. They have one hell of a journey.

My review
This book is hard to binge cause it’s so long. Took me two days to knock out. But this series got better over time. Book 3 is my favorite. The relationship was difficult and accepting. The ease of a soul mate was beautiful. Really romantic.
The storyline in great in many ways. They are able to keep you hooked and guessing.
The sexy bits are…. Interesting and new. Mate two is my least favorite with the blood and clamps. Gross. The other ones are way better.
The ending to the story was great. I feel satisfied with how it all ending.

My first series from this author and I’m loving it. I hope her other books are just as good.

The narrators were really great. They pulled it all off and made the story come alive. Hats off to to both of them and the author. Two thumbs up.

I suggest this book if you live alien romance with some twisted love.
