About this listen
With a handful of short stories, Collector pays a raw and honest tribute to homeless outcasts and prison survivors in California, to boyhood mischief, a misadventure hunting in Africa, and a risky rendezvous in Colorado. The resemblances to real people and events are, of course, purely coincidental. Yet it’s the made-up parts, the inventions sprinkled like salt crystals onto reality which accent the conflicted hope and flawed redemption in Collector’s short fiction. If it’s true enough to hurt, it’s no lie.

In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.
