Good vampire book

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I admit that I did not listen to or read the first book. I feel there were some parts that needed explaining and did tie into the first book but overall, I was able to follow the story and didn't feel I was missing too much. The narrator was great and I have no complaints at all about her. She was able to nail male and female voices very well.

Excellent Urban Fantasy Series!

I enjoyed Healer’s Magic, the first book in the Kala Trilogy, and this second book is even better. The story flows at a great pace and shows flashbacks of Vance’s past. I enjoyed learning more about Vanses’s and Tatya’s past. It is a difficult and tragic past.

Narration was well done and brought the story to life.

I enjoyed learning about Changing Skies and the spiritual guides. It is sad that Tatya hates vampires and yet she is linked to Vanse and can’t deny their deep connection. Unfortunately, an old enemy comes back to haunt them.

The story wraps up with a huge cliffhanger! There is not much romance in this book but I’m hoping for a bit in the next book. I’m really looking forward to finding out what will happen next.

The story continues

Vampires bane continues the Kala trilogy that started with healers magic. It has been some time since our protagonists send the demon back to hell, and healing has begone. Their peace doesn’t last long though when murdered women starts to turn up. In this story we hear more about Vanes background with his many thousands of years of existence. We also follow as their slow and tragic love story continues. It’s another dark book, full of war, fights and sacrifice. It’s well written with a world that keeps developing and lots of action. While I usually try to stay away from books this dark, I found it fascinating with all of the descriptions of shaman traditions and the way it was weaves into the story. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next and last book in this Trilogy.
The narration of the audio version of the book are well done, since the narrator does a good job changing her voice and in general brings the story to life. Like I often do, I bought the ebook version and read that one too, when I wanted to go over things in more details. The audio version was given to me doe free though, and since I loved the book, I am leaving a voluntary review.

Great second part

Book 2 is even better than the first.
Really enjoy all of Teagans work.
I was thinking ‘True Blood’ & ‘Twilight’ in the vampire or werewolf who should she choose.... not that the werewolf is an option yet but I think he will be soon! I can feel their attraction even if they can’t!
Lots of action. This girl never gets a break!
Great narration by Rachel Leblang.

Love to listen to more in this series

This is the seventh book I have read/listened to by this author and I enjoyed this book as well. Despite not having listened to the first book, I did not have trouble getting into this one. Everything was easy to understand and it appears the first book came to a degree of conclusion, as does this one. There is however a big lead into the next book.
The nature of the vampires is very similar to the typical ones with mixed societies in which humans know of and work with the werewolves and vampires- there is a minor twist concerning the local master vampire and love interest of the main character Tatya. ——-

This is the first book I have listened to by this narrator ( Rachel Leblanc ). She does an excellent job narrating/performing this book. Her male voices are well done and she imparts the personalities onto each character. Her cadence is good and I did not have any issues increasing the listening speed.——-

There are no explicit sex scenes, or much violence, or swearing. ——-

Vampires, Shamans, Werewolves, and More!

I really enjoyed this book with its many twists and turns. There was a lot of diversity while intermingling many supernatural entities. I would love a sequel❤️
