Good Summer Read

Under the Magnolias is an easy listen. It kept my interest throughout the book even though it was somewhat predictable. It’s a well narrated good story.

I chose this book because I adore magnolia tress, but it touched my heart in such an unexpected powerful way , I was moved to tears - this story of determination, family, hard work, God, mental illness & wellness leaves me filled with a profound sense of hope & renewed wonder at God’s Grace. Beautiful imagery & story of hope

I loved this book. I often listen to audible in my car and found myself crying and laughing out loud while driving. I’m sure people in cars around me thought I was a basket case! Such a great book.

A good story & help for problems

About a family that hid its problems out of fear and embarrassment but, in the end, came around right. About healing from the psychological problems we all share and the mental problems some of us have. A great read (listen). Keep a box of tissues handy for the last half of the book!

Touching epic

This story covers a span of many years, documenting the struggles of a family and the default caretaker, a teenaged girl. As life impacts the characters, their story impacts the reader. Touching and tender, chaotic and difficult by turns, this novel weaves a tale of loyalty, grace, and how loving one’s neighbor may be best done in the midst of trouble.

Wonderful story!

Wonderful story, keeps you interested the whole time. Nothing cliché, just great writing! Will definitely be reading more from this author.

Gray journey

This book is not action packed or mysterious, what it is is just a great Southern story with engaging characters each with their own hidden truths. I found myself rooting for each of them and finding such sorrow, strength, disappointment, empathy and pure joy in their journey and triumph in their accomplishments. I felt part of it all and can’t recommend this book enough
