About this listen

He has a heart of ice . . . but for her, he'd burn the world.

Alex Volkov is a devil blessed with the face of an angel and cursed with a past he can't escape. Driven by a tragedy that has haunted him for most of his life, his ruthless pursuits for success and vengeance leave little room for matters of the heart.

But when he's forced to look after his best friend's sister, he starts to feel something in his chest: A crack. A melt. A fire that could end his world as he knew it.

Ava Chen is a free spirit trapped by nightmares of a childhood she can't remember. But despite her broken past, she's never stopped seeing the beauty in the world . . . including the heart beneath the icy exterior of a man she shouldn't want.

Her brother's best friend. Her neighbor. Her savior and her downfall.

Theirs is a love that was never supposed to happen—but when it does, it unleashes secrets that could destroy them both . . . and everything they hold dear.

Contains mature themes.

I listened to this on Audible and Thank Goodness this book is over. OK!!! Let me clarify. The book itself was ok but the narration was absolutely annoying. Why is the female narrator whispering throughout the entire book. Like Girl speak up!!!! It's so annoying and made me so happy that this book came to an end.
Now lets get to the book!!
Overall all, again, it was just ok. There were so many parts that bothered me. Think about it how many college kids, rich or not, has the FBI in their back pocket. Think about it, exactly!!! It seemed as though every obstacle that one of the main characters came across there was something that they magically had to accomplish the task. If they are trying to pick a lot, oh look they took lock picking class a while back. Or if they are trying to snoop, oh look they have a jammer to interrupt the camera footage, or if they need a favor, they contact their FBI friend and make arrangements. Like seriously!!! This book had sooooo many parts that were far fetched, it ruined the book. I honestly cant continue this series, I REALLY wanted to enjoy it but its just too much, nothing realistic. But others have truly enjoyed this series, I just am not one of those people.

!!!!Narrator whispered the entire book, ughhh!!!

I actually like the story. I purchased this series because Aidan Snow is narrating. He is the best I've ever heard and he doesn't disappoint here. The female however is cringe worthy and consistently grates on my nerves throughout the book. Her voice is okay but when reading for the male she is horrible. Her voice drops low and lacks any and all emotion. I will avoid her narrating in the future but now I have 3 more books in the series that I now have to endure.

The female Narrator takes away from the story

I loved the book itself, but I wish they chose a different female narrator, she wasn’t terrible but she wasn’t great. I highly suggest reading or listening to this book. The male narrator was great, I loved listening to all of his accents.

I loved the book

I had read this story before and loved it so I decided to get the audiobook. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and I am used to different types of narrators, but this female narrator was the worst. For some unfathomable reason she was whisper reading half the time and the scratchy, hoarse quality was grating on my brain. I returned it and got my credit back. An absolute shame.

Female Narrator Made It Un-Listen-To-Able

I liked the overall story and the performance of the narrators but I was expecting a little bit more from the way things went. I’m going to read the second book since hello it’s a princess book and who doesn’t love one of those?!

Pretty good

Alot of twists and turns in this book but completely worth it. Great story and characters. Can't wait to continue more.

Worth the time

It was ok. It hit all the clichés. Its predictable and a weak story line. It kind of dragged because of the predictability. I had to take a break every other day to finish.
