About this listen

Warren Lawson is an elite Tribal Police Officer on the Jericho Nation Reservation in Oregon. A relatively peaceful place, but that’s all about to change.

Marvin Bingham is a man with morals that vastly differ from Warren Lawson's. One man loves to kill; the other does everything he can to avoid killing.

As Marvin claims another victim, he attracts the attention of two twin Native American brothers who want revenge outside the law, two brothers who happen to be very good at killing.

Caught in the middle of three killers, Warren races to keep the peace in his town, a task that grows increasingly difficult as his moral compass is tested unlike ever before. With each twist and turn in the case, Warren contemplates whether the law is worth upholding, or if he is just like the very people he puts behind bars.

Buckle in, as a seemingly cut-and-dry case turns into something horrific and complex, leaving the Jericho reservation in the wake of a bloody battle.

Engaging, Interesting, and Entertaining

Was not sure what to expect when this book was recommended to me. Downloaded for a solo multi-state trip recently. I found the story interesting from the start: as an Oregonian I appreciated the accuracy of weather and locations, the story jumps off centering around a main character I can identify with, accurately describes the frustrations of law enforcement personnel, the challenges of native Americans tribal infrastructure, and a crime. It just gets better from there. Looking forward to this author’s next book!

The action and the excitement.

Book started out great. Good character and story line in Lawson. Just the ending was drag on and on. Marvin character made the tribal police look weak and Marvin was weak serial killer. I was so bored of the book at the end. I don't want to hear anymore of this series. The voice did not match the character of Lawson. ugh.

Indian reservation cop

I liked the continuous goodness from the main character despite his darkness inside. What a good comradery between main character and his coworkers.

Interesting and new genre of police novels

Oregon based author and Tribal police officer himself takes a unique take on a crime novel . Set in the fictional tribal reservation of Jericho nation. This police investigation in the novel takes a turn and becomes a fast past action thriller where worlds collide between the police and Native American brothers trying to avenge family honor. The lead character officer warren Lawson is forced to balance what is right with what is law in an epic climax!

Waste of a credit.

I was looking for something similar to the Joe Pickett series, this is not it! This book starts out well but then drones on and on and the story go’s nowhere for a long time. It’s very boring.
