About this listen

When Oxfordshire tearoom owner Gemma Rose enters her little tabby, Muesli, in the cat show at the local village fair, the last thing she expects is to stumble across a murder. And when her meddling mother and the nosy Old Biddies decide to start their own investigation, Gemma has no choice but to join in the sleuthing. She soon finds there's something much more sinister sandwiched between the homemade Victoria sponge cakes and luscious jam tarts!

But murder isn't the only thing on Gemma's mind: there's the desperate house-hunting that's going nowhere, the freaky kitchen explosions at her quaint English tearoom, and an offer from her handsome detective boyfriend that she can't refuse! With things about to reach boiling point, can Gemma solve the mystery before the killer strikes again?

Entertaining read

Till Death Do Us Tart, my thirteenth read/listen from author H.Y. Hanna & the fourth in the Oxford Tearoom mysteries. An enjoyable cozy mystery. I love the narrator’s British accent; I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of narrator Pearl Hewitt, especially her oh so cute animal sounds. Cozy mystery/romance, captivating primary character, what other blurbs can I use to describe these books? Oh well, buy the book, read the books, get into a good author and some good characters as I have. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Series gets better and better

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this audiobook to a friend. It is seriously one of my favourite cozy series, and Pearl Hewitt brings the characters to life. I really enjoy the narration and look forward to each new book in the series.

What did you like best about this story?

I don't want to give anything away. But I love how every time I listen to one of these books, it's like visiting old friends. The characters are really wonderful and narration is just perfect.

Which scene was your favorite?

I don't know if I can pick a favourite scene, but I do love the Old Biddies. They really do steal the show, and provide lots of great moments!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book, as with all of the previous books, have provided me with many hours of good times and truly laugh out loud moments.

Any additional comments?

The stories have just enough red herrings and twists to keep you guessing until the very end. Characters are fun, quirky, and very well developed. If you haven't tried out any of the books in the series, I suggest you start! It's everything you want in a great cozy. Looking forward to the next one!

once again

I like her writing and I realize that it's fun to have a squirky character, but nobody it that stupid. the mother is written way beyond irritating. I want to stop listening because she is so self absorbed and clueless.
I like the mystery and the English town fun. but just because she's in her 50s, doesn't make her an idiot.

It’s light

This book is light and easy to listen to. The story is ok. The boy friend “the best in CID” detective must be one of the dumbest since he never solves any crimes and is often skeptical if the crime’s been committed. Otherwise it’s not a bad story if you like light mysteries.

Just a fun, easy, cosy listen

I love Pearl’s voice and her way of narrating. I love that it’s set in Oxford and the way the author describes the city! The story is a little predictable but still enjoyable. Love this whole series.

A competition gone too far?

Gemma's mom and the old biddies are at it again! Muesli is being her most adorable self as always this time as a contestant in a cat show. When things go astray and a not so sweet lady drops dead next to them Gemma finds herself in the midst of not only an investigation but some hard life choices.
This series is like eating potato chips. Once you start you just don't want to stop!
