About this listen

Sir Charles Cartwright should have known better than to allow 13 guests to sit down for dinner. For at the end of the evening one of them is dead - choked by a cocktail that contained no trace of poison.

Predictable, says Hercule Poirot, the great detective. But entirely unpredictable is that he can find absolutely no motive for murder.…

Excellent Narration by Hugh Fraser

What did you love best about Three Act Tragedy?

I like Agatha Christie's style of story telling. I like how the story was broken down into three acts. Hugh Fraser's narration is perfect, as always.

One of the Best

Great story! Got a little slow during the middle portion of the book, but the last part sucked me in. I was even able to guess the murderer, which almost never happens. Definitely recommend this!

Hugh Fraser is such a wonderful Poirot!

I've heard a few different narrations of Poirot but Hugh is my absolute favorite! He really does a great job! The story didn't interest in me in the beginning but got interesting as it went along.

Fascinating Mystery

No matter how many Hercule Poirot mysteries I read, I am still struck by how well crafted the story is written and how funny yet kind Hercule Poirot is as a character. This story is certainly in that same caliber. A very cleanly written yet highly entertaining read!

Always entertaining

If you’ve listened to books by Agatha Christie before, how does this one compare?

This one is good although the final explanation of the crimes strains credibility.

What does Hugh Fraser bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is great with voicing the diverse cast of characters.

So many layers

Not enough Poirot in the story for my liking but the multi layers of deception make it well worth the read. Hugh Fraser makes it well worth the listening.

Excellent

One of the best Agatha Christie novels that I've read with a complex yet elegant solution.
