Вернее сказать, это - описание моих театральных скитаний, вспоминая о которых, я молодею на полвека. Рассказываю своим внимательным слушателям в часы интимных бесед и вижу, что этим доставляю им удовольствие, а себе вдвое. А потом уже пишу почти теми же словами, как рассказывал.
Ни в этих рассказах, ни в записях никакой выдумки нет (я так много интересного видел в жизни). Я просто беру людей, события, картины, как их помню, и подаю их в полной неприкосновенности, без всяких соусов и гарниров.
