A Dawn of Fire audio.

Book three spins the saga of the Space Wolves as they stand against rampaging xenos hordes. Logan Grimnar faces a momentous decision that will impact the future of the chapter itself.

Listen to it because: discover how the Cicatrix Maledictum affects even the most stubborn and steadfast of the Imperium’s warriors, as traditions the Space Wolves hold dear may be stopping them from defending the Imperium to the best of their abilities.

The story: the Indomitus Crusade has brought the Emperor's vengeance to thousands of star systems. The fleets and armies under the leadership of Roboute Guilliman fight for the survival of humanity against the forces of the Chaos Gods. But the traitors and heretics are not the only foe looking to destroy the rule of Terra.

Xenos prey on human worlds in numbers not seen for millennia. Worst amongst them are the rampaging orks, whose migration conquests threaten to reverse the many gains of Fleet Primus. And their throaty bellows carry a name not heard in years, of destruction made flesh, a bestial warlord without peer: Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka.

In the midst of this brutal tide is Fenris, the world of the Space Wolves. Depleted by ever-greater demands on their warriors, called upon by the Legion-breaker Guilliman, the Wolves of Fenris face a momentous decision. Grimnar and his counsellors must choose whether their fate is to ally themselves with an ancient rival and risk all that makes them the Vlka Fenryka or to accept their demise and wait for the return of their own primarch and the coming of the Wolftime.

I often struggled in the beginning of this book rrying to figure out where I was in the world. Often I was just thrown into a different part of the galaxy surrounded by unexpected characters. More solid end of a chapter or transition to the next scene of the story would have been great.

Good book but needs more transition.

it started off as a slow burner but it picked up and paste really well. flushed out a lot of the characters and gave a nice introduction to the primaries to the original OG Space Wolves.

introduction of the primaries to Space wolves

This story gives you a decent look at Fenris and the Vulka' Fenrikas belief. It also lets you see how not every chapter of SM is going to blindly follow orders. Some demand respect, honor, and understanding before they will decide if you are worthy and others will prove to themselves if they are worthy of the title of Space Marine.

This story gives you a decent look at Fenris and why having orc neighbors is a bad thing

The book is enjoyable in some of its parts, but it suffers from a lack of action and events in the first half. It really takes too long to build up interesting stories and stakes for the characters. The positive aspect is that once everything is set up, the story flows interestingly. The end however feels rushed and may have benefitted of one or two more chapters to capitalize on the well developed character arcs.

Interesting stories of characters in the Dawn of Fire setting, but lacking pace and consistency.

Good saga and great transition. A key read in the future of the space wolves.

I've been listening to all books of this series and this is the one that took me longer to finish, nothing of note on the story, but entertaining nonetheless.

Nice story to pass the time, but nothing too captivating

I like the Dawn of Fire series because to put it simply: it answers fan questions. What is Bobby-G doing now days now that he's back? How are those new shiny 'perfect' space marines doing with their parent chapters and with each other when not supervised? How are the Custodians doing now they are actually doing something more than standing behind the palace walls? You get the Dawn of Fire series, that's what. While not perfect by any stretch of the imagination it gives insight. This novel takes us into he heart of the Space Wolves chapter and how they cope with the current state of the IOM, the rift and stretched entirely too thin. Their primaris brethren seeking to aid and to be sons of their primarch. Only to have ideals and personalities clash when old meets the new. The title is fitting because it is the topic of the book and main concern of the wolves. Worth a listen. Cannot wait for the next dawn of fire series.

Great addition to the Dawn of Fire series

As a Space Wolves fan, it’s just ok. It’s a pretty low stakes all things considered. Unfortunately it’s a must read for other space wolves fans as it tells the story of the primaris marines integrating into the chapter.

Just ok

I wish they had used another title.
