A Blood Angels novel.
Baal has been saved from the tyranids, yet the Blood Angels' greatest challenge awaits them. Reinforced by the new Primaris Space Marines, Commander Dante has been made warden of Imperium Nihilus. But to save the shattered Imperium, he and his brothers must first defeat the darkness within themselves.

The story: the galaxy is in flames. Chaos is in the ascendant across the stars. The Great Rift has split the holdings of the Imperium in twain, isolating entire sectors from the light of Holy Terra.
But all hope is not lost. The Primarch Roboute Guilliman has returned from deathless sleep and appointed Commander Dante, lord of the Blood Angels, as Regent and Warden of the newly dubbed Imperium Nihilus.
In the Baal system, the shattered holding of the Chapter is being rebuilt, and Dante plans the greatest campaign of his long life, to retake half an empire. And yet at this moment of rebirth there are dangers close to home that could overwhelm all those who carry the blood of Sanguinius in their veins, stopping Dante's noble endeavour before it has even begun.
The Flaw in Sanguinius’ sons is growing. As the twin curses of the Red Thirst and the Black Rage threaten everything, the hardest ordeal will fall upon Mephiston, twice-born Lord of Death and Chief Librarian of the Blood Angels. Among the mighty lords of Baal, perhaps only he can save them all, by mastering the darkness in the blood....

Good, but not great
Book 3 in Guy Haley’s blood angel series, following Dante and Devistation of Baal, is the weakest so far. It does advance the timeline for imperium nihilus a little and explains Mephiston’s crossing of the rubicon primaris. Plenty of action, and some interesting moments. Just feel is like filler before the next bigger more substantial book.

I enjoy all Warhammer stories
Since 2004 in Iraq I have enjoyed reading Warhammer fantasy and 40k and this series on the blood angels has been satisfying.

Another fantastic blood angels novel by guy Haley. If you enjoyed Dante, or devastation of Baal this is a must for you. Continues the plot of his previous novels and brings in great blood angels lore for fans of the chapter. For The Emperor

The accents!

kinda slow

Pretty solid
I can say right off the start I was upset to see they changed the narrator, and more so they changed it to somebody that hadn't really been established (Just my opinion). I would rather seen the same guy finishing this book up or one of the other veterans like Keeble do it. Book started pretty slow then I slowly grew into it. The voice of one actor in particular bothered me before i finally got use to it. I really enjoyed the answered questions from this book, as well as some of the stories continued on from the past and the nods to people of Dantes past. I really do hope if we do get a fourth book, that continues. I am quite interested in Lorenz as he has been with Dante since before becoming neophytes. It's really great to see nods to him and Chaplain Malafael as well as an insight into their stories and fates. It's very hard to follow up the masterpiece that is the Devastation of Baal as well as Dante. So this was as great as it could be in my opinion. The slow start was made up for with the battle scenes and answers to Dante's past as well as Primaris and Rubicon lore. Other then my two gripes, I am quite happy with Guy Haley and the stories he has down for the Blood Angels.

Excellent story
A must read for Blood Angels fans and fans of40k lore in general. Very heavy in Dante and Mephiston lore.
