Coach Bradford has a dirty little secret… and it’s not (just) me.

Jack Bradford is the oldest of the Bradford siblings, my best friend’s brother, and my son’s football coach. He’s six-two, dark hair, ocean-blue eyes, broad shoulders, and a square jaw that’s perpetually flexed. He’s a hero in our small town, and the gentle way he cares for his young daughter will melt your… everything.

I’ve done my best to show my interest, even walking down the aisle on his arm four times (in his younger siblings’ weddings). Everyone in Newhope ships us, but he always keeps me at arm’s length. I’d pretty much given up on landing this DILF, when an overbearing dad says my son is only QB-1 because I give the coach “special favors.” (I wish!) Then my ex-con ex-husband starts threatening us, and the walls break.

Coach Jack shows up at my door, sleeps on my couch, and his fight disappears. Being with him is beyond my wildest dreams. His secrets don’t scare me. He’s everything I’ve ever wanted… and more. Together, we’re a win, and at last I go from dirty little secret to dirty little wife.

(The Way We Win is a small-town, single dad, single mom, football romance with a HOT high school football coach, a sexy librarian, Friday night lights, ALL the Bradford fun, SPICE, and a touch of suspense. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and no third-act breakup.)

I really didn’t want to leave these Bradford boys and their sister Dylan, but if author Tia Louise had to wrap it up The Way We Win was the way to go. Big brother Jack has always been the rock, the solid one, the brother who stepped up and rewrote his own plans and dreams to take care of his siblings when their parents died. And he did it again when his wife was not interested in being baby Kimmie’s mommy. Always reliable, always strong, always has his head on straight, Jack is the high school football coach and takes the role very seriously. But this Jack?? Holy cow . . . .

Single mom Allie, school librarian and part-time server at Cooters & Shooters, the Bradford family restaurant, and Jack have been friends since she and her son moved to Newhope. They’ve walked down the aisle together many times and in Allie’s secret heart she dreams of walking down the aisle with Jack, but it’s always been at the wedding of one of his siblings. Every once in a while she hopefully thinks she sees a little spark in his eyes, but it fades and he’s right back to polite, correct, always-the-friend-and-never-the-lover FRIEND Jack.

So imagine the surprise when Jack thinks to himself, “Allie’s too strong and too sweet, and as much as she appeals to me, she’s too close to my family. I know from personal experience my private tastes aren’t for everyone, and I won’t take that chance with her.” Whoa, where did that come from? Firstly, even though everyone in the family has also thought they saw that little sparkle in Jack’s eyes when he looks at Allie and are wondering what’s taking him so long – he’s interested in her? She appeals to him? And secondly, private what?? What is he talking about? One can guess.

Author Tia Louise has packed a lot into The Way We Win and all of it will keep you flipping pages or unwilling to take your earbuds out. Allie’s son Austin is the quarterback on the high school football team, and Jack gives him every chance to shine. He wants Austin to have a shot at a scholarship, a career, a good life. A pushy parent who has just moved to Newhope so his son can be the star quarterback adds a little drama – or maybe a lot – to the story.

That’s an annoyance, nothing Jack can’t deal with even if it is unpleasant. But the fact that Allie’s ex-husband Rob has just been released from prison has her nervous and edgy and all the Bradfords on high alert to circle the wagons and protect her. She’s tried to be invisible since she and Austin left New Orleans and she’s not afraid, not exactly, since Rob was never violent in the past, but she’s worried anyway. Turns out she has good reason to be worried because Rob has skipped some parole check-ins and has been threatening Allie with text messages. How did he find them? What will he do?

Jack practically moves in to protect her and Austin, and that’s when the secret side of Jack is revealed. Author Louise treats us to some scorching hot scenes between these two and some sweet, tender declarations. They try to keep it under the radar but that won’t last long. And then Rob decides long-distance threats aren’t enough.

The Way We Win is perfect, every bit as enjoyable as the previous books in the series. Everyone is back, as goofy, loving, loyal, and protective as ever. The high school football politics heat up and lead to some startling events. Rob proves to be truly dangerous and there are some very scary moments. Running through it all are the strong family ties and desire to always be there for those they love. It’s tender, sweet, funny, and author Louise shows us just enough of the “real” Jack without going over the top.

This book is a wonderful conclusion to a wonderful series. I was fortunate to receive both advance reading and listening copies. I couldn’t read fast enough, but I didn’t ever want to stop listening. Narrator Jason Clarke is always outstanding, making Jack the safe, secure, strong, reliable man we’ve always known him to be, but Clarke turns his sexy way up for the Jack and Allie private moments, and believe me, you will swoon. Willa James is the perfect partner as Allie. She can go from agreeable, quiet, obedient teacher and server to authoritative mom to willing, smoothly purring woman. I thoroughly enjoyed The Way We Win and the entire series and recommend it without hesitation. There was a little peek at what comes next and I can’t wait. I voluntarily leave this review; all opinions are my own.

I just finished "The Way We Win" by Tia Louise, and WOW, what an enchanting ride! This small-town sports romance completely stole my heart! Meet Jack, the charming eldest brother and devoted single father, whose love story I’ve been eager to read. His connection with Allie—a fiercely strong single mom, high school librarian, and waitress—has been a delightful theme throughout the series, and this book truly delivers! The chemistry between Jack and Allie? Electric! It’s filled with longing and sparks that kept me blushing and glued to the pages. Even if you haven't read the previous books in the Bradford Boys series, this installment stands strong on its own, blending heartwarming themes, secret meetings, and a jaw-dropping plot twist that caught me completely off guard!

The audiobook, narrated in a captivating duet by Willa Jaymes and Jason Clarke, truly elevates the listening experience to new heights! Willa’s enchanting southern accent breathes life into Allie’s character, infusing her personality with warmth and authenticity. In perfect contrast, Jason’s deep, gravelly voice embodies Jack’s protective charm, conveying a sense of strength and allure that draws listeners in. Together, their performances are infused with palpable passion, brilliantly heightening the chemistry between Allie and Jack. This series is so amazing! Tia Louise always makes sure you fall in love with her characters and stories! I was drawn in from the beginning and didn't want it to end.

The narrators Jason Clarke and Willa Jaymes did a wonderful job telling Allie and Jack's story. They kept me entertained and held my attention throughout the entire audiobook.

Allie is a single mom to her teenage son Austin. Her ex husband was in prison but is now out so she's been looking over her shoulder just waiting for him to find her and her son.

Jack is the football coach and one of the Bradford Boys. Austin is his quarterback and he's always done what he can to look out for Austin and Allie. Jack is also a single parent. He has a sweet little girl. Jack and Allie have a good friendship but things start to change over time and things definitely get interesting.

Jack is the sweetest man when it comes to loving his daughter, Allie and Austin. He makes sure everyone is happy and taken care of no matter the cost. I was definitely swooning over him. I love getting to spend time with past characters as well and a lot of time at Cooters and Shooters!! There's always a good time to be had there.

This book will have you laughing, swooning, smiling and leave you with such a sweet ending! I HIGHLY recommend this book and this series!

Jack and Allie did NOT disappoint. These two have been building tension for YEARS, and oh my.. they absolutely erupted when they finally gave in to each other. I loved these two!!! There couldn’t have been a better duet team than Jason Clarke and Willa Jaymes. This audio was too good for words, and I just loved their suspenseful, wild, love story. They deserved their happy ending so much, and so did Kimmie and Austin. I love the Bradfords. This was a great ending to a great series!

Love it!

I wanna start by saying that Jason Clarke and Willa Jaymes did such a great job with this narration. So many things happen in this story, and there are so many different emotions from so many different characters and they nailed every single one.

Now if you've been following the series, you'll know that Jack and Allie have not so secretly been pining for each other from the very beginning. Well, let's just say that the wait was definitely worth it.

Like I previously said, so much happens in this story, and I could honestly talk about it forever. From Jack's delicious secret, to Allie’s horrible ex, to the Bradfords, once again, taking out the trash. And let's not forget about the girls' night with the mandatory purple juice. This book was fun and entertaining from beginning to end. I loved learning more about Jack and seeing how his protectiveness extends to his players, and I also absolutely loved seeing the flirty side of Allie.

Tia Louise also did an amazing job at setting up the next generation, and I will keep crossing my fingers for that age gap, step-siblings story.

Quote: “I’m not denying it any more. I’m not pretending anymore. I want you standing beside me, and I don’t care who knows or what they say. You’re mine, Allie, and if you’re changing your name, you’re changing it to Bradford.”

“I’ve loved you for so long, I didn’t think I could love you more. I was wrong.”

Allie has had a serious crush on Jack through this whole series, but Jack didn't seem to notice. He is just polite to her. But now we get to find out what he has been thinking this whole time. Spoiler alert: he noticed. The situation has changed, though, and it continues changing through this book. Jack and Allie have several challenges to meet, but they do it together. They are a terrific couple.
The narrators did a great job with the characters I have loved through this series. They kept up the love and fun of this family in this duet audiobook. But I have to mention that Jason Clarke had a wide variety of characters to perform, and he made me cry several points, some of them unexpected. This is the best performance I have heard this year.

Great performance

Story - ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Spice - 🌶🌶🌶
Narration - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Way We Win is book #5 in the Bradford Boys series and this one just might be my favorite. I mean, this story has been YEARS in the making with these two until finally...BAM! Coots and Shoots isn't the only place with the spice! Jack Bradford loves his job as the high school football coach. He's a born protector for his family, his team, and Allie. She has a nasty ex-husband that she left in prison for a better life for her and her son, Austin. These two are fire together and I couldn't get enough of them. This off-limits, super protector, secret romance with some suspense thrown in gave us all the characters with all the feels. Binged it and loved it.

The duet narration was fantastic! Jason Clarke and Willa Jaymes were the perfect voices for Jack (grumpy, alpha protector) and Allie (sweet but mama bear to her family and friends). The passion (which is off the charts good!), the emotions, and that beautiful HEA...the perfect recipe for a 5/5 star performance. LOVED these two!!

Finally! The wait is everything...

Story Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (0-5)

Overall: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (0-5)
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 (0-5) I bump up for public places/outdoor spaces. Very mild BDSM & toy play.

What I'm Starry-Eyed Over:
🤩 What a fabulous combination in DUET—these narrators, Jason Clarke & Willa Jaymes, bring out everything about these characters' chemistry and their personalities.
🤩 I adore Tia Louise's writing—I'm so immersed in every scene. (That scary maze scene.)
🤩 Small town goodness. Pub/bar scenes, school scenes—love it all.
🤩 Jack is the high school football coach & Allie is the high school librarian. We get a lot of football camp and football season.
🤩 Found family.
🤩 The secret pining.
🤩 This is year four of Jack being Allie's son's high school football coach.
🤩 I'm so in love with the trust Jack and Allie have built over the years, caring for each other's kids, and how they can be so honest with each other once they give in to their attraction/chemistry.
🤩 Their chemistry is so needy and irresistible, but having to sneak around.
🤩 "Crawl to me."
🤩 "I don't mind a little kink." "I'm from New Orleans."
🤩 OYMASMCLAGG—IYKYK! Yeah, I listened to chapters 14 & 15 a few extra times.
🤩 All the feels plus some LOL moments!
🤩 Great kids—Austin making me bawl (even at high school football games) and Kimmie making me crack up.
🤩 The added suspense plot (involving Allie's ex-husband) brings even more emotions.
🤩 The poetry.

What I'm Wishing/Dizzy About:
💫 Second generation Bradfords getting some romance stories?! Say what?!

This couple was adorable!

I knew I was gonna love Jack's romance and this really delivered! He has had so much weight on his shoulders. He has looked out for and basically raised most of his siblings after their parents died. He is so stoic and steady. He's also a great dad to boot!

Allie is also a single parent and she's the best friend of his little sister, and her son is Jack's star football player. Her ex-husband has just been released from prison and the Bradfords are all bent on protecting her and her son. This makes Jack extra protective and he is constantly looking in on her.

These two are so drawn to one another and when their passion spills over, they have to keep it a bit on the down low. To keep any shade from being thrown on her son for favoritism, and to keep his family out of their business. Good luck, guys!

Jack also has a bit of a soft dominant side and he has been shamed by it before. Watching Allie embrace that and let Jack express himself with her was really special. They are adorable and also very sexy together.

This was narrated in a duet by Jason Clarke & Willa Jaymes. They did an excellent job and the audios are what continue to bring me back to this series. I love them so much.

Cozy, Sweet, and Steamy!

🎧 Audiobook Review – Performance 4.5⭐

Jason Clarke as Coach Jack? No exaggeration, I went absolutely feral. His voice captured every bit of Jack’s steady strength and soft dominance. Tender, commanding, and gruff in all the right ways. I’d happily listen to him voice anything, but grumpy, broody dads might just be his sweet spot.

Willa Jaymes brought Allie to life with emotion and heart, though I wasn’t completely sold on the accent. It didn’t quite match the Louisiana vibe I imagined from the text—but that said, her delivery had a gentle sincerity that still made the character feel authentic and real.

The duet narration worked beautifully. Clarke and Jaymes had such natural chemistry, which was essential for a character-driven, slow-burn story like this. The emotional beats landed, the tension built steadily, and the intimacy felt lived-in and earned.

Did I get lost in it? Absolutely. From quiet moments to spicy explorations (hi, soft Dom Jack 😍—I'll call you sir anytime!), this audiobook amplified everything I already loved on the page. It’s the perfect listen for anyone who loves small-town charm, second chances, and heroes who protect what they love with their whole damn heart.

📚 Book Review (Story – 4.5 ⭐️ | Spice – 3🌶️)

Another winning play from Tia Louise! I truly believe she never misses—and she certainly didn’t start with The Way We Win. Book five in the Bradford Brothers series was the heartfelt, slow-burn payoff I’d been waiting for. The wait nearly killed me (not medically speaking, of course😆). I’ve wanted Jack and Allie’s story from the very beginning, and Tia tortured us for over a year… but now that the wait is over, I can honestly tell you—I was glued to every single page.

Coach Jack Bradford and Allie Sinclair’s story has been brewing forever, and their chemistry practically leaps off the page. I loved how this romance blended deep family roots, small-town charm (er... gossip😆), and just the right amount of steam with real emotional vulnerability.

Jack is the kind of protective, quietly intense single dad who earns an instant spot on the book boyfriend shelf. Allie is grounded, selfless, and strong. She matches Jack’s energy in all the right ways. Their journey unfolded with warmth and heart, and watching them finally give in to something that always felt inevitable? It made my heart ache in the best way.

What I loved most was how perfectly this book balanced everything I want in a small-town romance—tight family bonds, juicy local drama, fan-worthy spice, and those sweet, gut-punch emotional moments that sneak up on you.

If you’re craving a romance that’ll make you smile, swoon, and maybe tear up just a little... The Way We Win delivers.
