About this listen

So . . . I didn't handle the zombie apocalypse well. I used to be a third-grade teacher, but since the Gorging, my life has been . . . kinda rotten. I lost my group to the undead, became indebted to one of the gangs, and now I've been sold as a blood-slave. My new owner is Atlan, one of the vampire warriors who guard Blue City's walls and defend us from the zombies. The vampires are like celebrities around here. It's my job to provide Atlan with a clean blood source and any other services he needs. I keep telling myself I'm one of the lucky ones. But with the zombie hordes moaning on the other side of the wall, and the human-shaped monsters roaming Blue City, I'm not so sure anymore. Perfect for fans of Laura Thalassa and Jennifer L. Armentrout, this dystopian vampire romance positions vampire warriors as the saviors of humanity, the last defense against the hordes of zombies. Contains mature themes. I loved this story.. it contained zombies and vampires but not in the traditional fantasy sense..
experimental medical treatments that have unexpected side effects. we get the creation of vampires..
I love the take on this and the explanation that makes it plausible.
now on to the story, the MMC is a Bruning sexy beast which is to be expected from Rebecca. she never lets me down. and the FMC is a fantastic mix of tough yet understandable in her vulnerable moments. it's a slow burn per say but the spice and attention to detail in this cinnamon roll of a man is swoon worthy..
the narrators were spot on with these characters and I could immerse in the high stakes emotions and heightened situations..

oh my zombie

I realize the author stopped where she did so that you are left wanting more, but it was quite abrupt. Otherwise I loved the premise, the characters, the style of writing. It was a great, interesting, and easy listen. Of course the ending left me wanting more, as was intended. Cannot wait to start the next book. The dynamic between the two main characters was fun and playful. Their chemistry undeniable.

Abrupt ending, but awesome book

🌶.5 (Slow Burn 🔥 build up)

Welcome back to "Why did it take me so long to read this?" the series. This has been on my list for a hot minute!

🧛‍♂️ Vampires? Check.
🧟‍♂️ Zombies? Check.
🔥 An angsty slow burn romance? Check.

This was one of those that once I started it, I could NOT put it down until I finished it. Vampires are the only ones who can defend humanity from the zombies, but they need the humans for their own survival to feed.

I love Atlan and Finnley so much. Smexy, bad@ss, vampire warrior lord with a bit of a golden retriever side, and a smidgen of "touch her and d!e" vibes. Throw in a desperate-to-survive blood sl@ve with a penchant for trouble. That's a recipe for a good time.

The build-up was deliciously slow, verging on edging. 🔥

By the time the last 20% of the book rolled around, I was sweating because there was way too much left unresolved and not enough pages! Then, I realized this is book one in a series. Thankfully, the next two are already out because I will be starting them immediately. 🙌

I can't recommend this enough!

Vampires, Zombies, Blood Sl@ves, OH MY

An actually interesting take on how the world ends and the denizens of the "new world". I enjoy the atypical scientific ideas of how the vampires and zombies are, and why they exist.

oddly funny

I liked the MC cause I think her character was realistic in a dangerous world like that. The story itself was interested and kept me entertained to see what happened next.

Great story

This book is definitely not what I’m used to. But it was surprisingly enjoyable. Vampires, zombies, the apocalypse, soldiers, and I’m just learning of a group of scientists being thrown into the mix.

Something different to cleanse the pallet.

Did I binge this book in less than a day? …Yes, yes I did. Devoured and left no crumbs, can confirm.

I was introduced to Rebecca in December when I joined Booktok, and she has very quickly become one of my all time favorite authors. Every time I finish one of her books, I’m left stunned and smitten. I always convince myself that there’s no possible way I can enjoy another one of her stories as much as or more than the last one I finished, and time and again, she proves me so very wrong. I don’t know what she puts in these books that makes them so addictive, but every single one really hooks its claws into you from the first page, and I just keep coming back for more.

The Vampires Will Save You is definitely not your typical vampire novel in that, as the title states, in this one the vampires are humanity’s saviors and only hope for survival in a post apocalyptic world. A really fun and easy read, chock full of beautiful imagery, action, adventure and of course romance!

Atlan and Finnley were E V E R Y T H I N G I didn’t even know I needed right now, and I couldn’t get enough of their banter. This is a low and slow burn, for certain, but the wait is well worth it! 🌶️ 🔥

And if you reach the end, and like me, shriek W H A T— you are in LUCK, because books two and three are already out! I know what I'll be doing the rest of the day. 🤓📖

An easy 5 stars

The story was very good and I agree that the ending was abrupt. I was really looking forward to downloading and listening to the 2nd book. However, Audible added a preview of the next book in the series at the end but it wasn’t book 2, it was from book 3. Now it kind of ruined the 2nd book for me because I know what happened to Finley. Really bummed and I hope Audible fixes this issue. I’m still going to download and listen to the 2nd book but a lot of the suspense is now gone.

Good book-Audible to fix preview at end

The world building and character development was phenomenal, from the get go I got immersed and couldn't stop listening. The only thing that would have made this better is if we heard from Eric Smies more or this had been performed in duet style. But still, Ashley Bryce did a great job.

4 Starz - worthy of a repeat listen

Awesome Intro!

I ended up stopping about nine or ten chapters in. The characters actions make no sense. They are really flat and not interesting. The main girl is just stupid and is adversary for the sake of being so. No very well written.

Not worth the credit
