How do you punish an immortal?
By making him human.
After angering his father, Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disoriented, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the 4,000-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus' favor.
But Apollo has many enemies - gods, monsters, and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go...an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.

Critic reviews
"[Narrator] Robbie Daymond is completely charming as the god Apollo.... Apollo is conceited and self-important, but Riordan's funny writing and Daymond's narration make sure the listener is always on his side as he learns how to manage without his godly gifts." (AudioFile)

Percy Jackson is the eponymous hero of the best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. He made his debut in The Lightning Thief at just 12 years old, where he discovered the shocking truth about his parentage: He is a demigod, the son of a mortal woman and the god Poseidon. Beyond his own series, he was one of the protagonists in the Heroes of Olympus series and has since appeared in other spin-off novels and series from Riordan.

The writing is beautiful. There’s no other way to put it. I came into this book thinking, “Oh, here we go again. Another one of Ricks books. Same ol’, same ol’.”
There are some things to point out.
Although I did not love the narrator, I did tolerate him. I would like a new narrator for the second book, but I still wouldn’t be that mad if they were to keep him. I know he tried his best, and I feel people were to hard on him. He’s only human. Most of us couldn’t do that if we practiced for as long as they do.
Overall, it’s a good book. It’s a well writing book by a well known author. There’s no other way to put it. This is from my experience of it, and I have a few recommendations for how you approach reading the book. I recommend you get a copy of the book, sit down, and start the audible recording on your phone. That way, I can follow along while still having a bit of voice action going on. Thank you, and have a nice day!
