My nephews have been living with me since the start of the school year and we`ve listened to so many books together. We`ve really enjoyed similar books like Stanek`s amazing Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches. This is the first one we`ve read by Riordan and we all liked it. It has a similar mysterious and thrilling feel to it as Stanek`s books but more of a mystery than a fantasy.

Mysterious and thrilling

I enjoyed the story, Riordan's writing style is unmatched. My only qualm is that that main characters are children, though honestly, what did I expect? The historical facts are a highlight for me. The real world Di Vinci code-esque conspiracy with elements of scavenger hunt, ties it all together.

Great story

I LOVED IT !! It was narrated perfectly !😀👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻, but what I loved the most was the way it switched between the two characters . I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE THAT WANTS TO BE ABLE TO GET THE SAME EXPERIENCE OF AWESOMENESS!!

I LOVED IT!

I think this is a fun alternative to many of things kids are doing today. The story includes a lot of history. It is a combination of National Treasure and the Davinci Code for kids. The combination of the website gives the kids a more intelligent alternative to webkinz. After listening to this book, I purchased two copies for my children ages 10 & 13. I think this will be fun to follow as additional books come out and the clues continue.

Fun Alternative

What did you love best about The 39 Clues, Book 1?

Amy and Dan are admirable, yet believable.

Any additional comments?

I liked book 1 and I will probably add the rest to my wish list. Though, If they are only going to solve 1 clue per book, I don't know if I will have the patience to listen to all of them. Amy and Dan need to learn not to talk so loudly, they also need to stop letting their relatives sneak up on them so easily.

Amy and Dan are the coolest
