About this listen

The Rotten Belly Society was an order that existed among some Native Americans tribes of the Great Plains. The members of this society were compelled by powerful visions to devote their lives to being contrarians. In simple terms, they did things backwards for the purpose of educating people on how to behave properly. A similar principle was seen on a popular t-shirt of the 1980s that said, “I’m not useless—I can be used as a bad example.”

Then there's Dan...

The paths we follow through life aren’t always straight. The struggles we face are not always obvious to the people around us. The journey is messy, painful, and we do not escape it alive.

In this final installment in The Way of Dan Series, Dan’s journey home isn’t the only challenge he’s facing. Besides the ever-present danger of traveling across post-apocalyptic America, there are the personal demons that have pursued Dan across the country and across the years.

A part of Dan feels too old and stubborn to change. Another part of him is beginning to understand that change is constant, and the journey only ends if we give up. That is the Way of Dan.

I've enjoyed every installment in the series. This book was no exception.
It further built on the characters of the previous books in the series and added a few new ones.

One of my favorite series.

I got thru this book way tooo fast and now I have nothing to read! LOL This is a great series. My favorites are this one and the first book. I hope Horton keeps writing fast! This and the Borrowed World series are really the Best in the genre followed by Locker Nine. I highly recommend to anyone who likes action with great relatable characters who are also on the amusing side!!!

An absolutely perfect ending to one of my favorite series. I could see some spin offs coming from this.

hell of a way to end it.

So happy to get this last installment about Dan. It sucks that I won't hear from him or his family again. This was a good ending to a great story. To me - the last book (book 4) felt a bit rushed and I got the feeling the author was just trying to end the story. This book however, didn't disappoint and I love that fact that he didn't kill Dan off at the end, so there is always hope for a book 6! Franklin Horton is by far my favorite author in this genre. He has other series out that are just as awesome as the Way of Dan, but this was my favorite. Dan is so relatable!

Unique apocalypse story.. quirky and crazy in a good way. Mad Mick series is another favorite. thank you for taking me away during this uncertain time on earth. NWO- had plans for us. hopefully that will be completely dealt with.

I was hooked from the start. Every extra minute I had, I listened to this series. captivating.

Writing style is very good and clean. I enjoy it thoroughly and the narration is exquisite. The combination makes for a riveting experience.
I’ve become somewhat addicted to post apocalyptic audible books and Franklin Horton is one of my favorite, but I really think a big part of it is Kevin Pierce‘s narration.
I just wish Franklin was a little slutier. Not looking for smut, but a little more realism with life and human interactions as we know it, which I think would be much more important and on full display in a post apocalyptic world..

This book was good but missing something still, and the ending seemed rushed. Great narration as always with Mr. Pierce
