About this listen

It took me a while to learn that sometimes no matter how much–or how hard–you love someone, or something, you have to let them go. You can’t save a sinking ship.

Sometimes, you have someone else you have to be strong for, who needs you more. You make a choice; a devastating one. And you hope, maybe one day, they’ll come back to you.

Little far fetched but enjoyable

The storyline was enjoyable but a little far fetched and a crammed with events a reader would have hoped for to happen in the first book. The performance was not great Kasi sounded kind of whiny. Like she was trying to put more emotion in the words and overdid it.

Cute read

"The Resurrection of Wildflowers" by Micalea Smeltzer is a poignant second chance love story that beautifully continues the journey of the characters from "The Confidence of Wildflowers." Seamlessly picking up where its predecessor left off, this novel delves deeper into the complexities of love, loss, and redemption.

Fans of the first book will find themselves drawn back into the lives of these familiar characters, as Smeltzer expertly weaves together their past and present, crafting a narrative that feels like an extended epilogue to their story. The emotional depth and raw honesty with which the author portrays their struggles and triumphs make for a truly engaging read.

While the conclusion of this book offers a satisfying resolution to the characters' arcs, some readers may find themselves hesitant to continue to the third installment. Despite the allure of revisiting these beloved characters, the decision to focus on the same protagonists and introduce additional drama may not appeal to everyone.

For those who feel content with where the story concludes, "The Resurrection of Wildflowers" serves as a fitting ending point, earning it a solid rating of 3.5 stars. While the desire for a different direction in the series may linger, there's no denying the beauty and poignancy of this second installment in the Wildflowers series.

a must listen after book 1

okay, I was super hesitant to buy this one. book 1 ripped my heart out and I did not pay close enough attention to realize a child dies (which is my biggest fear). so after that stab to the heart I wasn't sure I wanted to continue because what could possibly culminate to a HEA after that? the reviews Audible showcased didn't help. they said the book was sappy, etc. however, I had to gamble on a happy ending. I couldn't leave my heart there at the most painful part. I am so glad I did. this book wasn't a steamy forbidden/taboo romance but the love story and rebuild from heartbreak was messy yet so satisfying. I loved the plot development and how it makes such beauty out of the grit of real life.

Kind of sappy

I like a good HEA but I felt like I got that 1/3 of the way into the book. There wasn’t much conflict, all the internal dialogue was too perfect and I felt like Thayer’s personality was different. Perfect for real life, kind of sappy and boring for entertainment. I liked the first book much, much better, unfortunately.

Meh

I was excited to start this book but then it came somewhat predictable. The girls voice was great. The guy didn’t have a bad voice, but after listening to the whole first book and Thayer never talks I created my own image of his voice, so the guy voice didn’t match. It was somewhat distracting.

Very good book

I was able to do these books back to back and am so glad I could. The story continues very well.

3.5 Stars

I really enjoyed book one and wanted to see what would happen. This does pick up around six years after book one ended. It was pretty good, but it is exactly like you would expect the story to go. There were some sad moments thrown in as well as some aww moments which made it a decent read.

I also like how the author captures co-parenting in this and did not turn Caleb into a villain.

Overall, I do agree that this could have all been in one book instead of a two book series. I still enjoyed it though and am adding Micalea Smeltzer as a author to read more from.
