About this listen

As a female firefighter in a small town, Suzanne O’Connell finds herself trapped in a dangerous situation with two men. And when the stakes turn deadly, trusting the wrong man could put her life in jeopardy.

She held the phone in front of her, feeling excitement, or something. When Marcus rested his hand over the phone, she thought he was going to take it from her. As she lifted her gaze to her brother’s, his expression was anything but friendly.

“Please do not be one of those girls,” he said. As a female firefighter in a small town, Suzanne O’Connell knows that every day will go one of two ways: Either nothing happens, or she suddenly finds herself in over her head. Firefighters never, ever say the words “It’s a quiet day!” - because that’s when all hell breaks loose, and their peaceful, easy day suddenly turns into their worst nightmare.

This is exactly what happens to Suzanne when she finds herself trapped with Harold Waters, local law enforcement officer and her old flame, and fellow fireman Toby Chandler, who, according to everyone, is the kind of guy you want watching your back. In an unusual turn of events, the stakes turn deadly, and Suzanne discovers that trusting the wrong man could leave her life hanging in the balance.

Really Interesting

I have to say I really enjoyed this book far more than I have enjoyed books in the rest of the series. I really connected with the main character. She's really into this guy who couldn't bother to even try to pretend to be in a commitment with her. If that isn't bad enough, she's passed up on promotions in favor of him. This is a second chance romance. I really enjoyed the second chance part of the romance. It was really inspirational. Spoiler alert, the second chance isn't with the jerk.

Another Great Addition to the Series!

This is the fourth book in The O’Connells Series. I love this series! Suzanne’s story is fast-paced, and filled with suspense and twists and turns. Harold and Toby are both interesting and intriguing characters. Jason Markiewitz is a new narrator to me. I like his voice. He did a good job with the narration. I believe it is better to listen to it in order. This is an amazing and captivating series. #AudiobookObsession

who to trust

Suzanne Oconnell is a strong , fierce, firefighter. Toby, whom she trained and was promoted over her. When a dangerous fire popped up, she was trapped inside with Toby, and Harold Water, her former boyfriend. It was intense, and couldn't believe the mistakes that Toby was making. she was reprimanded for her speaking out. This is a story of who to trust, forgiveness, and a second chance of love.
Jason Markiewitz narration was very good I enjoyed listening to this story

Easy enough to pickup on its own

I havnt listened to the rest of the series but this one was easy enough to pickup on its own with enough background about the family to understand the dynamic.

This actually hit on some hard issues with I quite liked. Inter office relationship fails and lies.

Definitely an interesting listen. Solid three star listen.

Great series

So far this series has been great. I have to say that the female lead in this story is the first character that I have not liked. The whole I have to do whatever he wants because he's so handsome... yuck 🤢

Great Read

The Quiet Day (The O'Connells #4) was a great read by Lorhainne Eckhart. Suzanne O’Connell is a female firefighter in a small town. She knows that every day will either be a day where nothing happens, or she gets in over her head. One day Suzanne finds herself trapped with Harold Waters, a local officer and her old flame, as well as fireman Toby Chandler. Unfortunately the day turns deadly and Suzanne discovers that trusting the wrong man could leave her life in shambles. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
