LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

Stop the side stories

I hate side stories. I don't care about Jacob and his body Guard. I don't care about Casper the not so friendly ghost. I don't care about anyone but Jake and the viper. I've skipped all of the other characters chapters as I don't care. instead of giving us random chapters, take them out and make side quest books. only provide enough context in the Main book for your story to continue, I love long run times, but not at losing the Mc to side characters

Another Ecellent Story

This book nicely wraps up the storyline from the first book and introduces Jake back to Earth. The Second half of the book is mostly setup for the next book. However, it manages to keep things interesting with fights and new powers. I am looking forward to book 3 and beyond.

Annoying spoilers!

I really liked the book but for one reason and that was that many chapter names had spoilers in them. You could tell what new spell he would chose based on the name of the chapter and there were a few other spoilers in the chapter names. Please for the next book think what you name the chapters. You basicly wasted the whole chapter where he would concider what new spell he would chose when you told us before he saw the options.

Great story

5 stars the 1st book was recommended to me after extensive searching for something new and tasteful. Did not disappoint and this just continued to be great as well. I dislike that I finished the book so fast because it just came out and prob be another year till next one comes out so that’s on me. Other than that I would love to see this made into a movie/ tv show or anime. There is a lot of story elements here that I think can be hard to get around in a book but if they can make an adaptation to fill in the spots so we can focus on the good stuff than I am 100% for it. Thank you for providing a legendary story and look forward to the future.

Moar.

Great narration. In particular, the voice of the blue fungus was on point lol. Great book, can't wait for the next.

Also, nice darkest dungeon reference.

really fun

Love this series. The progression and skills are very fun. The feeling of isolation and social anxiety are on point, wanting to be part of a group but wanting to be alone is very relatable and relevant now. I'd say with both books so far the end just kind of snuck up on me and left me wanting something to cap them off and hook me for the next book. It doesn't detract from the book it's just a bit confusing.

Great second book

Really fun conclusion to the first book, and the start of a new world for him and many new characters.

Continuing the Hunt

Jake decides he needs to level up before facing the second beast lord. After defeating all 4 beast lords, he will be able to fight the king of the forest. He knows the only way he has survived this long and the only way he will continue to survive is by grinding away. He only has had himself to depend on so far. There are others out there who will continue to take advantage of other people or groups to get stronger and stronger but Jake can’t protect them all.

He likes fighting the stags because the like the ranged attacks but they also have area of effect healing. Fighting 3 stags at once was hard. He would attack one and the others would heal themselves and the one being attacked. He started going for the face since that seemed the best way to do damage on them, but they also protected their faces fiercely. Next he tried using his bow and arrow without any skills.

As he levels up he gets an ancient skill, the scales of the malefic viper. It provided him armor, magic resistance among other things. He has a skill that actually used mana instead just being a wasted stat. To test the level of magic resistance, he lets the stag hit him with its magic blast. He shot one and killed it with an arrow, another stag charged up its attack. While it was charging Jake covered himself with the scales. The attack pushed him back a few steps but otherwise no real damage. The stag actually looked scared. The stag charged towards him with his antlers lowered. The stag hit him square in the chest and he went flying into a tree. He got quickly and stabbed the stag killing it. The physical resistance of the scales was very high. Some were dented and scratched but overall still good. He had to find the rest of the beast lords and the king of the forest before the tutorial ends and everyone is sent back.

4s all across

I really liked the first novel, and this is a good continuation. It’s not excessively kiddie or jokey as a lot of this genre feels like it’s written for 12 year olds. This series doesn’t shy away or crack jokes in a poor attempt to make light of heavy situations. A few things are illogical though. A good example would be how Jake consistently struggles and eclipses expectations with his feats, but some of the other characters do almost nothing and attain similar or arguably greater power. Jake kills like a thousand level 70+ beasts in the blink of an eye and gains 1 level (I know it was a specific situation but for 1000 70+ this is underwhelming) while others like Jacob gain like 30 levels in two days by preaching and talking with a god once. There’s also the point that Jacob clearly changed in mind after his class change. We learned in book 1 from the Viper that the system cannot change a persons mind, but Jacob just lost the girl he loved and instead of killing the culprit he gets manipulated into allowing him to live and convince the rest of his ‘flock’ to mass suicide into something… I’m all for a good bad guy and everything, but having them find a hidden dungeon like Jake did and then getting super strong would make a lot more sense than a god just popping up and power leveling their chosen for plot reasons. My last gripe, did we really need an hour long section about Jake scuba diving in an earth affinity lake? I personally love the solo journey without the introduction of irrelevant side characters that always become moral dilemmas somewhere down the road, but I also don't love listening to magic theory of corrupting some gem at the bottom of a lake for an hour, I mean come on. Not very exciting stuff there.
