By her side is Thane MacQuarie, the resolute chieftain of Clan MacQuarie, whose nurturing and protective traits are pivotal to her recovery. His steadfast leadership and support lay the groundwork for Tasmin's rebirth, rendering their romance profoundly moving.
The story skillfully juxtaposes the villains' dark malevolence with the satisfying warmth of retribution. The playful mischief of the children, laced with subtle hints of Fae magic, weaves a captivating spell of whimsy throughout the tale. The romance between Tasmin and Thane emerges as a testament to hope and enduring strength. Paul Woodson's narration is absolutely the best - I loved the book when I read it, but is was twice as good listening to Paul act the characters & tell the story!
