Publisher's summary

In this romantic-comedy novella, the sexiest player in the NFL and a small-town librarian prove that when opposites attract, their chemistry can be game changing.

Simone Thompson wakes up in a Vegas hotel suite to discover three things:

  • Her headache might kill her.
  • The guy spooned behind her isn't some random Vegas hookup...it's James Sumner, the NFL's bad-boy wide-receiver and her twin brother's teammate.
  • There's a ring on her finger - you know...the finger.

As part of a football family, Simone knows all about the game, the good, the bad and the ugly. That's why she joined her brother's trip to Vegas in the first place - to keep an eye on him, not to end up entangled with her crush. Her very out-of-her-league crush.

James has always had the hots for Simone, and now that they're married, he sees an opening to prove to her he's more than just a playboy and that they really do belong together. But if he's really going to win over his bookish princess, he'll need to execute the perfect play....

About the Creator

G.S. Carr has always enjoyed indulging in her imagination. At a very young age she had a thirst for reading and the many possibilities it helped come alive in her mind's eye. Carr can normally be found locked away with a good book in her home in Charlotte, North Carolina, or traveling the globe to places like India, Bali, Tokyo, or London.

About the Performer

Ryan Kailbourne is an improvisational and stand-up comedian, actor, and voice actor with a combined 15 years as a performer and has narrated five books using 10 different dialects. He enjoys providing his voice in various forms of media, including commercials for IBM, Under Armour, and Footlocker, and hosts events on the Comedy Lounge on Clubhouse. He has produced his own books primarily but also enjoys using his talents as a voice-over artist in the commercial and animated fields.
Kailbourne has aspirations to be on Saturday Night Live, tour the US and the world as a stand-up comedian, and create his own animated shows in collaboration with his talented friends. He is the voice of Derf Flogginton on the YouTube puppet show "Flip and Derf," along with Brett Osborne. He dreamed of being a sports broadcaster as a young man and has always loved Dan Patrick, and has a comforting familiar neutral tone. He can do a mean Nick Offerman impression and a host of others.

Fun short book

Quick short love story, pretty much know what’s going to happen within the first 10 minutes, but still cute & enjoyable!

good story

It was a cute, good story but a little too short for my tastes. I like them longer with a bit a after story. Loved the HEA but too quick of a listen in less you only a a little bit of time. But I enjoyed it.

Feel Good Romance

This cover caught my attention and it didn’t disappoint. So glad the focus was not on the professional football player but more so on the assumptions and misconceptions people make. This novella reminded me that there is more to life then responsibilities and we all need to wake up and see what’s in front of us! Would love to see this story continue!

Fun, Flirty short story

I'm so glad this was in my recommendations, because it isn't something I would normally pick up. I really enjoyed it. It was a fun story that made you smile and laugh at times, and really want good things for the two main characters. I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for this author in the future. Female Narrator wasn't my favorite but it flowed nicely and not anything to take away from the book.

Overcoming Your Fears and Giving Love a Chance

I really enjoyed this story. I liked how sometimes we have to get to the truth of why we do what we do and how fear and lies can cause us to ruin good things instead of living and loving from our true selves. A very quick listen and a nice story with lessons and a happy ending.
