About this listen
"It all began... When did it all begin?"
Waking up to a mystical call, Daniel begins experiencing vivid daydreams, glimpses of an ancient past, and an irresistible connection with a mysterious man he has never met before. Driven by an unknown force and drawn towards Noah, Daniel finds himself embarking on the greatest adventure of his life.
"The Power of Love: The One" narrates the journey of three characters who traverse worlds, magic, the past, and the future in an unending battle between Light and Darkness. As they search for answers to mysterious events, they ultimately make humanity's greatest discovery: Love is not merely an emotion or feeling. There is a lost and forgotten secret about Love and its true nature. Cursed by an evil spell, the world suffered its greatest defeat against an ancient foe, losing every trace of its true, original beginning. Now, at the turn of the tide, the enemy is coming back to finish what it had started. And the world has no way to stop it.
Dive into this enchanting magical story. Join Daniel, Noah, and Anita as they walk the path of discovery in reverse, starting from fragmented pieces and culminating in the revelation of an incredible truth.
Plunge headfirst into the tormented love triangle between Daniel, John, and Noah. Follow Anita's journey as she unravels the secret to a fulfilled life, and hold tight as their lives are drawn into a world of fantasy, magic, and divine intervention.

Story
A thousand years ago, my great-something uncle founded the Collective, a secret organization dedicated to protecting humanity from demons. The hunter tradition has been passed down over the generations, from parent to child, secure in the knowledge that the Collective is a community of safety and knowledge. But betrayal sucks, and six years ago, it turned my world—and the Collective—upside down. After generations of deception, the hunters left behind are picking up the pieces and trying something we’ve never done before—working side by side with our enemy.

I'm the starting quarterback for the Portland Pirates, and I have a thing for my son's teacher. Except I didn't know the cute blond on the beach with the giant dog was my kid's teacher until two months later at Open House. Christian took my breath away during my vacation and introduced me to things I never knew could feel so good and be so right. I think he just might be the one who inspires me to tell the world that this NFL quarterback is bisexual and in love with a man.

The festival is a rite of passage for every teen werewolf, and this year's festival will be one to howl home about. The alpha's son, Jasper Apollo, is attending for the first time.

Listening at 1.3x speed the narrator was fantastic.
The narrator definitely saved this book for me. The story was a little draggy at parts in particular the first part of the story. Pace picked up when the magic started. Will listen to the second book to see how the story continues.

The Power of Love: The One by Ross J. Kinnaird is the first installment in the Power of Love series and marks an impressive debut for the author. This novel is a sophisticated blend of fantasy and romance, offering a journey of love that spans many lifetimes. Unlike typical MM novels, Kinnaird's writing is deeply layered, with realistic characters and a complex storyline that gradually reveals new and exciting possibilities. Readers should be prepared for a marathon rather than a sprint, as this series avoids traditional resolutions.
Daniel, one of the main characters, experiences life-changing visions and dreams that lead him to uncover surprising truths about himself. His complicated love life takes a pivotal turn when he meets Noah, the man from his dreams who has been waiting for him. A birthday trip with his best friend sets the stage for this fateful meeting, propelling them into a new world in peril. Here, the trio must embrace their roles as heroes while navigating the challenges of returning home.

Slow start and meandering story.
I felt the story meandered and was sometimes hard to follow. Some details in the story didn’t seem to integrate in the story.

interesting story but...
This story is interesting, but the writing leaves much to be desired. The way the author writes conversations is stunted and unrealistic and kept taking me out of the story. Perhaps it is just the way the narrator is reading it??? His monotone voice was more annoying than anything else. I kind of recommend it, but perhaps a hard copy is the way to go.

the narrator is incredible. easily the best thing about the book.
The story starts off very interesting and intringing. but fantasy is not the author's strong suite. I found the world they finally enter confusing and there was too much exposition and not enough at the same time. the romance if that's what you can call it. Is kind of lackluster and never really goes anywhere. the author kind of writes himself into a moral dillima that he never really is able to over come and just sidesteps the whole thing in the end. making for a unrewarded and somewhat ambiguous ending. that said there were a lot of good parts and ideas and it definitely has an originality to it. I may read the sequel and maybe some of the loose ends and confusion can be better addressed.

It’s Complicated
Kudos to the narrator for a stellar performance. The story however was so complicated and over-written that it was nearly impossible to follow. It’s desperately in need of editing. I’m an avid reader, and to be fair, I haven’t read a lot of fantasy. But I’ve read enough to feel this book was self-indulgent on the part of the writer. I cannot recommend this book. I would go so far as to say that I regret my purchase, and I won’t be continuing the series.
