About this listen

Time calls the shots.

Unwitting time traveler Joseph Bridgeman is adjusting to life in the present and wondering if his traveling days are behind him. But when he’s contacted by the Continuum, an organized group of time travelers based in the future, he learns his career is just getting started.

The Continuum needs Joe’s help. One of their operatives is missing, last seen in 19th-century Paris, and they believe Joe’s ability to see the past might be the only way to find him. Teamed up with Gabrielle Green, an acerbic, wisecracking traveler, Joe heads back to 1873 on his most dangerous mission yet, one that will take him deep inside a burning opera house.

But how will Joe succeed when his new companion clearly hates his guts, the missing traveler disappears the second anyone sets eyes on him, and a familiar foe threatens to trap them in the past for good? With help on hand from his best friend, Vinny, and mysterious clues hidden in his sister Amy’s paintings, Joe must hone his gift, develop new skills, and figure out a way to complete his mission before the blazing inferno comes crashing down around them all.

My favorite of the series

Love the new characters and the growth of the originals. Ray Porter's narration was perfection as always. Can't wait for the next one!

Love this series! Great story and narration!!

I started off listening to the first book and then I was hooked. Loved how the characters were developed and how the story kept you on your toes. Ray Porter has been excellent in narrating. His ability to give each character a different voice really added color to the story. Can't wait til the next book!

Quantum Leap

The author has just rewritten the 1990s TV show Quantum Leap. Instead of Sam you have Joe. Instead od Al you have Vinnie. Instead of ziggy you have Iris. in place of a quantum accelerator you have a mysterious pocket watch. Good thing I liked that show and Ray Porter and the story is entertaining enough to overlook things like being able to bring home a loto ticket but having everything else go back to it proper time. How Vinnie seems to remember everything about the 2nd mission despite Joe changing the past without vinnie.

Another fun book

Nick Jones has done another great job developing characters in his story. He feeds you information about characters as the story moves along and it never feel forced or too delayed. Great Job Nick! The book narrator Ray Porter is always a joy to listen to as he brings the story to life and has never let me down in any of the books he has narrated. Truly a fun ride.

Loved it.

A fun and interesting read with believable characters. The first book "And then she vanished" had me absolutely wanting a sequel. There is so much more content that can be explored in this series. Perhaps even adding a bit more hard science when exploring the continuum? Thank you Nick Jones for so many hours of enjoyment. Oh wait, there is a sequel coming, sweet!

Amazing Series

This was an unexpected good series. Each book helped the character development and by the last book I was so invested I didn't want to finish the series. The characters were funny and witty and the story line was rich and coy. Loved it.

Keep them coming

Each book in the series builds on the previous and is better then the last. The author does a great job of character development adding new characters to the previous story line. This book’s new character, Gabrielle, is a hoot. This isn’t a hard sci-fi novel by any means. More of an interesting thriller with some time-travel sprinkled in to keep things interesting. Looking forward to the next installment.
