About this listen

Someone found him in a laundry basket at the Quick Wash, wrapped in a towel, a few hours old and close to death. They called him "Baby Moses" when they shared his story on the ten o'clock news.

It all happened before I was born, and by the time I met Moses and my mom told me all about him, the story was old news, and nobody wanted anything to do with him. People love babies, even sick babies. Even crack babies. But babies grow up to be kids, and kids grow up to be teenagers. Nobody wants a messed up teenager.

And Moses was messed up. Moses was a law unto himself. But he was also strange and exotic and beautiful. To be with him would change my life in ways I could never have imagined. Maybe I should have stayed away. Maybe I should have listened. My mother warned me. Even Moses warned me. But I didn't stay away.

One of the BEST

You know, I was so excited to find this was being released in audio form. I had read it when it first came out and thought it to be such brilliant writing. The depth and substance of the characters, the creative and superb storyline, and the powerful way that Ms Harmon has of weaving love, tragedy, humor, broken-ness and redemption throughout. That being said, it just HAD to be heard as well. And, boy howdy, I was not disappointed. The two narrators (JD Jackson/Moses and Tavia Gilbert/Geoergia) were excellent in their interpretation of the writing adding further to the veracity of the story. I love to listen to a book I've read and this one has got to be among my all time favorites. I heard things I did not read or see; I felt things on a much more primal level; and the connection to both Moses and Georgia (and always Eli) was one forged on an emotional anvil. So, why go any further with the review? It's by far and away a lovely opportunity to visit this book for the first time or to connect at the different and deeper levels after reading it. Don't miss it, please.

Love!

This is already my favorite book, but these narrators brought it to life in s way I couldn't have imagined. I used the audio version as a reread, prior to starting The Song of David. I'm just as excited to read Tag's story, and am thrilled that it will have the same narrators!

Beautiful story of redemption.

This is my first book by this author and I think she's wonderful. A story of redemption and truth and hope. I have mixed feelings about multiple narrators - so often I find books where one is wonderful and the other is meh - but in this case, both narrators were a real pleasure to listen to.

Wow!

I loved this book, from start to finish. Right before the epilogue I though, I loved the story but..., and then the epilogue ended it just right.

Good eye opening and heart moving story!

I was afraid that it was going to be a cheesy young romance but it wasn't and I really enjoyed it! It made me stop and think about what my view was on many different levels and how a simple novel can open my mind to look at the world and people with more love and compassion because I really don't know what they are going through!

Wonderful story

The story was wonderful and touching. However the reading left much to be desired. I did not like the male or female narrators. Their voices did not fit the characters.

OMG. I loved this book! I laughed and cried.

I have never given all 5 stars but this one deserved it. I laughed out loud and cried.
Both narrators were excellent.

What made the experience of listening to The Law of Moses the most enjoyable?

The story drew me from the start; love the characters most of all Moses! Definitely a must read/listen.

What a GREAT law!

Oh God! This book killed me! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! Christ!!! I didn't want it to end.

You have to listen to this audio. I have both the book and the audio. The book is good, of course, but the audio is BRILLIANT. BRILLIANT!!! You NEED to listen to it. It will simply kill you. I absolutely enjoyed it. Cried UGLY tears from the time the Hummer sped in (towards the end) until the end. What a story! Will listen to it again. And again. And again. Not your typical love story, but oh so beautiful. And NOT ONE sex scene, but sooooo good. I didn't know I could appreciate a romance without smexy times, but I did. The story is that engrossing. Great plot and character development.

LOVE! :-)

I can't wait to read David's story; I've pre-ordered it, though.

Kudos to Ms. Harmon for such a well-written book and for taking the time to choose such a brilliant narrator! Tavia Gilbert is awesome!!!!!! What a voice! What a performance!!!! And J.D. Jackson is the bomb! (That phrase ages me, I'm sure! hehehe)

Just listen to it already! :-)
