The eighth novel of the internationally acclaimed Chaos Seeds saga.

A mesmerizing tale reminiscent of the brutality of Goblin Slayer and the majesty of Game of Thrones.

Audible's Customer Favorite of the Year!

Number one audiobook 2017.

Welcome my friends!

Welcome...to “The Land"!

The battle of the dead was won, but at a great cost. Sion, leader of the Mist Village, was left with only pain and regret as Richter was claimed by the abyss.

What no one but the abandoned chaos seed knows is that he narrowly avoided the curse of the lich Singh, a curse that still hangs above his head. Now, surrounded by miles of darkness and tons of crushing rock, Richter has to find his way back into the light.

The only problem is that this monster of a man is being pursued by monsters, a demon, and his own foolish choices. Faced with all the dangers of the deep dark, what will Richter say when the buried horrors of The Land come a calling and asked if he's paid his dues?

Well he'll look right back, stare that horror in the eye, and say, "Yes sir, the check is in the mail!"

Welcome back my friends! Welcome back...to The Land!

ridiculous

7 hours in and hes still reading promts from the last book. the wait wasn't worth it. wait for the next one. This book is lack luster, all of the set up and hype built up from the last book falls flat. some cool stuff happens but its mostly promts. 7 hrs 8n and only a few hours have passed in the story, im dissapointed by the book and there are WAAAY better options. not to mention all other characters are absent in this book.

Too little Lit, too much RPG

Love "The Land" series, but honestly, I tend to tolerate the RPG aspects because I enjoy the story. This book is VERY heavy on RPG and light on story. There are chapters upon chapters of Richter reading prompts, menus, upgrade descriptions, etc. Podehl is great as always, and the spirit and some story are still there, but it's a bit like listening to an instruction manual.

Chapter 34 seams to be unpopular

Other than the dedicated and descriptive chapter that is 37 Monsters is another art piece that fits right into Aleron's mosaic that is the land. Thank you for another amazing book!

Nice addition to the storyline

If you haven’t read the first 7 don’t jump in here. Great addition to add up all the figures from predators. But not a great stand alone. Would’ve liked to see more in this one, felt like we were organizing all the stats and reassessing how strong ricter has become for most of this. Still very enjoyable to see all the character growth but as far as story progression we moved an inch. Nick Podehl is terrific as always

Aleron can do better

I love your books and to sum up what really ruined this for me in two simple things nearly no main story progression and so much filler. You can do better Aleron but hey when the next one comes out I’ll still be first in line hoping for better

Meh

I have enjoyed most of the land books, but this one was not one of the better ones. The narrator as always did an excellent job.

Start of a new story arc

A lot of people were disappointed in this installment but not because it was so bad - because the series is so good. Everyone has their expectations and desires for what they would hear and when they didn’t get them satisfied, their disappointment manifested as saying the book was bad. Really the book was on par with all the others in terms of quality. It has arguably one of the best cliffhanger endings too. But at this point the passionate fans just want to be given the conclusion to all the open storylines. This book doesn’t conclude any storylines and people were upset. This book starts a new arc and lays the foundation for the next 6 books. Get excited for what is to come because I guarantee everyone agrees what is in story is sounding epic.

Somewhat disappointed

Nick was great as always, but there was barely any progression for the story, mostly prompts and notifications. I enjoyed the previous books so much, I was angry at how this book turned out.
