New reader is terrible.
New reader is so flat that it genuinely ruins the production. Flat and blows though words without pauses or flow of content.

Finally!!
I have been waiting for this audible for what seems like forever! I love the story, however there is a new narrator and I haven’t made my decision of whether I like his voice for Doc or not. The previous narrator really got Doc and I miss those inflections. A couple times I had a hard time figuring out who was talking because he didn’t really change his voice . I’m sure in the next audible it will get better and I realize that this is just my opinion and I might be in the minority.

Narration a bit stilted. I got used to it, but...
The story is fine as usual for a Doc Holiday book. But was hard to enjoy at first with how the narration is. The narration is a bit stilted and doesn't flow very well. I got used to it, but the first few chapters were a struggle.

Not a fan of the new narrator.
Breaks my heart to leave such a low review, but the narrator barely gave distinct voices to any main characters.
I mean, who is Doc without his southern drawl?
and it's hard to keep track of a conversation where everyone sounds the same.
Really hope they figure something out for the next book.

I hate this narrator so much I don’t know if I can keep going
I guess the original narrator retired, but this guy is not a good choice. His voice is so… meh at best and wholly wrong. It’s lackadaisical— it lacks LIFE. Doc is all about life, this dude sounds like he’s tired of life. It lacks differentiation and distinction between voices, and can’t do the voices in a way that keeps with their already established personalities. Previously likable characters are hard to tolerate, some characters are unbearably annoying.
Honestly I just don’t care anymore. My investment in the characters is dissipating more with every passing chapter. The emotion is gone. The richness is gone. The color is gone. It was colorful, and now all grey and flat. It’s hard to judge the story bc it’s so butchered by the narration but I’ll give the author the benefit of the doubt and assume it’s like the others. I used to binge listen, now I’m struggling to keep listening and have to take breaks.
I see the next book has the same narrator. I’ll probably wait until the next book comes out. If it’s the same narrator I’ll probably stop. If it changes and he seems better I’ll wade through the next one in order to keep going.
