Wonderful story!

What a wonderful story of people living in the Blue Ridge mountains! The hardships, joys, meanness, faith, love and so much more. This book seemed real, listening to the narrator telling of the close-knit families and others who inhabit the mountains, and the ones who came to serve. It was a story well told and I really enjoyed it!

Entertaining book

I enjoyed the story line of this book. It is well written and held my attention all the way through.

Kept me interested throughout. Beautifully written. Feel good book will take you back in time with moments of laughter, action, tears and love. All the while reminding you to keep faith in God.

Strength of the mountain

Loved being pulled into the lives of the mountain people. I didn't want to have it end. Hope there are more to come. the narrative was delightful.

Wonderful Story

What a wonderful story with beautiful, well-developed characters. I had read Pepper Basham’s Skymar series and wanted to try something in a different genre. It did not disappoint!

This is one of the most beautiful books I have read. I did not like the narrator. But the story was heartfelt and full of love both for God and all His people!

Excellent! reminds me of “Christy”

This was an excellent story of the folk of Appalachia. A great expansion on the classic book “Christy ” by Catherine Marshall
The Character development was very good giving the reader a feel for the strength ,tenderness ,and fierce pride of these
Mountain people van a it exposed some of the superstitions and ignorance of their culture.

Wonderful portrayal of Appalachia

Fantastic characters and setting! The love and hope exhibited in this story amidst brokenness and loss brings joy to my heart as I read it. The narrator was talented. There were many dialects and accents in this novel and she portrayed them exceedingly well. I highly recommend for a slice of early American history and an uplifting story.
