Raw, Real Emotions

I enjoyed it and I was hooked. Piper has a great way of really fleshing out the details I always feel like I am present while listening. And that last line was *chefs kiss* I enjoyed seeing Mare come to life and seeing more of her personality. Seeing a more /human/ side of Fauna was nice as well raw emotions and the way I was transported and brought to tears at multiple times during the listen.

Absolutely love the characters and the flow of the story! I cannot wait to read more!

Great story

Great series so far, just really get tired of how every detail is described. I want the story not what every detail of everything that's talked about. Brief descriptions would do. The story however, is great!! Love it!

I desperately need Book 3 NOW

I loved the lore and pacing of this book. I spent a good portion of the book trying to figure out who Fauna is and allllllllll of my guesses were wrong.

There were some sections that put me in the shoes of others whose perspectives I’ve never spent much time considering. And while I still disagree with their actions, I understand why they took those actions given their own internal motivations. It’s fascinating.

AND THE ENDING. 😍 The cliffhanger had me immediately fretting “HOW long do I have to wait before book 3 comes out?!?”

I liked the story and the lore. I can see why it might be too lore heavy for some, but I think it fleshed things out

Great storytelling

I loved how exquisitely the author told the story and how well she paints pictures with words. It was if I was watching a movie in my mind. She made me care about the characters by giving them depth, purpose, and mystery.

Accuracy of mythology

Piper, yet again, knocked it out of the park! Book 2 has me craving book 3! Caliban and Marlo have crazy whirlwind adventures that somehow always work out and I cannot wait to see what their future holds.

Too many descriptions

I loved the first book but this one goes into waaaay too much detail about the Gods and their relms. I know this author studies in mythology and religion but she put too much time into getting details correct then the actual story and dialog.

Political…

First book was great. The voice actor is great. But this book is pushing fashion politics. I listen to fictional books to escape the constant bickering of politics. I couldn’t finish the story because of this.
