Acerca de esta escucha

How often have people claimed that a certain thing was "in the Constitution" and you've wanted to pull out a copy to show them what this incredible document really says?

This is the book you want to keep with you at all times: the full text of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, the two documents that are the backbone of United States government. Hearing them as they were written is a must for every American. Regular listening is required for any historian or member of the legal profession, and a good idea for all Americans.

Acclaimed Constitutional scholar Paul Skousen, author of How to Read the Constitution, frames this simple text with a brief preface and a summary of important facts about these two documents, including important dates, for the ultimate quick reference. Throughout the text of the Constitution, he provides a clear guide to parts that became invalid due to later amendments, making the current meaning clear. Without intruding on the meaning, Skousen gives you a great tool for understanding our most basic principles of good government. An inspiring introduction by New York Times best-selling author Dan Clark will put you in the right frame of mind to listen to and appreciate these great documents.

This handy guide can become your best friend, and you'll want to keep a copy nearby. Here is your chance to become an expert on two of the most important documents that shaped our country!

Performance:
The narrator has, what I believe many people will agree to be, a "stately voice". An almost too perfect match for historical document reading, and American History narration at that, which makes him a perfect fit for this reading. However, despite his personal sound signature, the overall performance comes off quite slow and sometimes robotic even. Yet The Constitution and the Declaration of Independence is one of the most important documents to understand the foundations for the USA, and for only two hours of listening an easy pick up to do such, and study afterwards. Yet despite such length, it's importance can not be misunderstood. This covering even the Amendments and Rights granted to the American people, the same rights that are so often fought over and talked about, and at the end expressing the often held misconceptions of said information within. (Though I imagine those disagreeing with the stance supported by suggesting such things are misconceptions would, ultimately, still disagree with them. ) Despite some hang-ups about the performance; The content within is indispensable, and given it's nature as both a historical document, a foundation of rights and government, as long as you are comfortable with the narrator you have heard in the sample, you will not be disappointed.

A Classic for Understanding the USA's Foundation
